Perform stationary post assignments: Stand guard at stationary posts which include (but not limited to) monitoring closed-circuit television, duress alarm systems and other security equipment, courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms. Perform escort duties: When directed, provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals. Perform garage parking and pedestrian control: Where applicable, direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties, as described in the post orders and/or standard operating procedures. Enforce law and order: Enforce federal law while in the performance of assigned duties. This includes (but not limited to) detaining any person attempting to gain unauthorized access to Government property, or a court proceeding(s), or attempting to commit acts that imperil the safety and security of Government employees, property, and the public. Prepare reports and records: Prepare various reports and records regarding contract performance issues, such as labor hours worked, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts that occurred within the court facility area. Court attendance: Responsible for securing unattended courtrooms, an inspection of courtrooms prior to a proceeding, testing of security devices, and other duties concerning security of the court area. Preserve order: Responsible for providing security presence in the courtroom, enforcing federal law and judicial orders within the courtroom, enforcing local court rules regarding prohibited items, and providing protection to court proceedings as circumstances dictate. Requirements Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.); all three (3) years must have occurred within the last seven (7) years. The experience must have included general arrest authority. Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must possess the ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years; Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice. Must have completed or graduated from certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification as proof. Other Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age; Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides Supervision of daily care of residents while modeling advocacy and mentorship to each resident. Models and teaches accountability, respect, trust and appropriate behaviors relating to shelter rules and guidelines. Physically capable of restraining youth if necessary (must be trained in Handle With Care and follow policy guidelines concerning seclusion/restraint) Assists in transportation of residents as necessary to execute the case plan. Supervises ACT2, Enrichment, visitation, meals, and chores. Will report on residents' behaviors at the end of each shift by submitting shift notes into EMR. Incident reports are included (and required) where applicable. Will complete incident report forms as required. Will participate in staff meetings and trainings as required. As needed, responsible for meal preparation in accordance with planned menus and keeping records for National School Lunch Program, including Point of Service. When designated as the medication administrator for shift, will adhere to OCC medication administration policies and procedures. Offers active listening and support during crises or difficult moments to help residents navigate challenges. Help residents with homework or academic needs, encouraging goal setting. Teach essential skills like time management, conflict resolution, and personal hygiene. Lead physical, creative, or social activities that encourage teamwork and health. Perform designated client headcount in 15-minute intervals. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience: High school education or GED with a demonstrated ability to work with troubled youth. Minimum of six months experience in residential care of children preferred. Must pass physical examination and have a current TB health card.
