OUC is the second largest municipal utility in Florida that provides electric, water, chilled water and/or lighting services to 246,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties. The company was established in 1923 by a special act of the Florida Legislature. OUC employs about 1,100 employees and operates coal, natural gas, landfill gas and solar generation facilities, seven water treatment plants, and maintains electric and water lines.
