Our Daily Bread company history timeline

1938

Our Daily Bread Ministries’ history traces back to 1938 when its founder, Doctor M. R. De Haan (a physician turned pastor) started a small radio broadcast in eastern Michigan to air his reflections on the scriptures.

1956

Published since 1956 this is our most popular devotional with short articles relating to Bible passages.

1965

Richard De Haan took over in 1965 and led the organization until 1985. Its founder, Doctor M. R. De Haan, led the organization until 1965.

2011

Richard's son, Mart De Haan, was the president until October 5, 2011, when the presidency was handed over to his brother, Rick.
