    This position is responsible for insuring the integrity and safe working condition of all shop and billboard mounted electrical components/systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Installation and repair of wiring and conduit within the scope of the NEC (National Electrical Code) Repair and maintenance of electrical fixtures and control equipment. (Time Clock) Able to set and program time clocks. Planning for new or modified installations to minimize waste of material, provide access for future maintenance, lock all disconnects when leaving sign. Install equipment such as lighting fixtures, relays, ballast, breakers disconnects circuit breakers and fuses. Fasten in place with screws or bolts. Use the lock out tag out method. Identify and promptly report any unsafe conditions observed. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT: Climbing and working at elevated heights in different weather and heat conditions sitting, walking, standing, speaking, hearing, reading, kneeling, lifting, carrying a minimum of 50 lbs., multiple concurrent tasks, frequent interruptions, verbal and written communication, detailed work and confidentiality. EQUIPMENT USED: Safety harness with lanyard and other personal protective equipment, various ladders, a multi-meter to determine voltage, power tools and hand tools. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have 2 years minimum electrical experience Ability without fearing to climb and work safely at elevated heights, 60ft or more. Read blueprints and schematic. Ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems. Should be a licensed electrician or be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to meet the definition of a qualified person in a sign/billboard work environment. Assist the Electricians in troubleshooting system or production based technical issues. Assist the Lighting Supervisor in maintaining and repairing rental and house equipment. With assistance from the Lighting Supervisor design, document, and lead the installation and use of lighting systems for non-theater programming and campus support spaces. Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of Festival exhibitions. Assist in the implementation of the weather plan for HJL and other outdoor programming. Support the Video Documentation Team in recording all non-theater based programming. Manage lighting calls as needed and assigned by the Lighting Supervisor. Attend all organizational, departmental and production meetings including a weekly All-Staff Meeting. Under the general direction of the DoTP, assist with coordination of emergency response for staff and patrons in the event of an emergency or extreme weather. Complete Adult/Child CPR, First Aid, and Cultural Competence Training (provided to all seasonal staff during the pre-season) Assist and support other departments, including non-production departments, as needed on use of lighting equipment. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of professional theatrical lighting engineering experience. Knowledge of and experience with theatrical lighting systems, equipment and standard operating procedures. Knowledge and experience with the EOS family of lighting consoles and their programming language. Knowledge of DMX, Ethernet, and wireless theatrical networks. Knowledge and experience with Google App suite, the Vectorworks suite of software, Lightwright, as well as other industry-standard lighting applications. Experience working outdoors or in non-traditional venues. Willingness to learn. Ability to work proactively, creatively, flexibly, kindly, safely, and collaboratively. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in a performing arts educational environment. Knowledge and experience in dance production. Experience supervising and managing staff and/or equipment. Experience working on productions that incorporate robotics, motion capture technologies and extended reality technologies such as augmented reality or virtual reality.
