The PhysicalTherapist (PT) works collaboratively with members of the team to assess students and assist in developing a plan for integrating services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assesses school site facilities for the purpose of ensuring accessibility in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Assesses student functional mobility, gross motor skills and motor development (e.g. motor coordination, neuromuscular development, muscle strength, etc.); Considers student's physical presentation and related health/medical/historical factors contributing to safety, comfort and compatibility with environmental expectations for the purpose of determining students' deficits and development of recommendations.
Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations and/or referrals.
Prepares documentation (e.g. evaluations, observations, progress, contacts with parents, teachers, and outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information.
Trains parents and school staff in activities, use of assistive technology, and/or appropriate accommodations to be implemented throughout the school day and across environments.
Screening and evaluating students with disabilities or special needs.
Collaborates with teaching staff to identify and implement alternative instructional strategies, environmental modifications, and changes to routines or schedules.
Presents information on various topics related to Physical Therapy for the purpose of educating parents, students, school personnel and staff.
Maintains accurate student records and keeps information secure and confidential.
Performs screenings and observations of students for the purpose of determining the need for further individualized assessment.
Researches and coordinates resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the field of physical therapy as well as special education requirements (both federal and state regulations).
Interpersonal communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to multi-task in a high energy, high volume working environment.
Ability to articulate the role of the physical therapy in the evaluation, intervention planning, and intervention process.

The Los Angeles Angels Player Development Department have a Minor League PhysicalTherapist position in Tempe, AZ for the 2026 season. The Minor League PhysicalTherapist will work alongside the Rehab Coordinator with all daily responsibilities such as hands-on treatments, training room maintenance, rehab progressions and any other duties as assigned by Director of Minor League Medical and Major League Head Athletic Trainer. This is a 12-month position required to be present at the minor league complex in Tempe, Arizona.
This position is also benefit eligible including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K eligibility; employee contributions after 3 months, employer matching and safe harbor after 1 year and 1000 hours of employment and additional perks not listed above. The expected salary for this position can range from $100,000 - $110,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaboration with Player Development Departments
Execute a rehab system that efficiently and effectively returns injured MLB 40-man roster players and MiLB players to competition in a high-performing, resilient condition.
Collaboration with MLB Medical Staff
Develop the rehabilitation methodology to be utilized across the organization.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Work with Athletic Trainers, Physicians, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Dieticians, Front Office, and Player Development staff to optimize player care and injury prevention.
Development of Rehab Progressions
Create position-specific rehab progressions ensuring objective and appropriate exposure to volumes and intensities of baseball activities.
Daily Medical Meetings Participation
Engage in daily medical meetings, player rehab progressions, treatments, game coverage, and end-of-day reporting.
Objective Assessments and Screenings
Conduct frequent objective assessments and screenings of healthy and injured players, utilizing this information to inform player progressions and maintenance programs.
Daily Documentation
Maintain accurate daily documentation in the MLB electronic medical records system.
Administrative Duties
Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Minor League Medical.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current PT Licensure (licensed in AZ or eligible for AZ licensure)
Current CPR/AED and First Aid cards required.

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Scope
We are looking for a Doctor of Physical Therapy who thrives on problem-solving, clinical excellence, and connecting with people virtually.
Clinical Excellence:
Evaluate and treat a diverse and complex caseload across all MSK domains (spine, extremities, pelvic health, TMJ, etc.) via telehealth.
Conduct meticulous differential diagnosis and triage, confidently ruling out non-MSK causes and determining the need for referral or imaging based on evidence-based guidelines.
Guide patients through comprehensive health and wellness programs beyond passive treatments.
Clearly explain diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment plans and adjust them to meet patients' evolving needs.
Work directly with the Customer Success team to lead initiatives focused on maximizing customer engagement and informing effective marketing tactics.
Logistics & Adaptability:
Maintain strict organization to track patient progress, outcomes, and drive internal metrics.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and patients.
Demonstrate a growth mindset and flexibility, including occasional schedule adjustments (evenings/weekends) for on-site events or team needs.
Requirements
Must hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and be actively licensed to practice in Arizona.
Must be based in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, willing to work from our Tempe HQ 1-2 days/week, and willing to travel monthly for onsite clinical care and events.

JOB CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY
Responsible for developing, planning and treating children with sensory and motor deficits to assist with learning and provides consultation to teachers and staff on strategies to improve students' sensory and motor abilities.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a lead, professional level classification responsible for leading the work of occupational therapy assistants and assisting with staff training; serving as a consultant to support interventions, accommodations and modifications in regular education; completing
screenings and evaluations; preparing assessment reports; interpreting finding to parents, IEP teams and instructional staff; developing and recommending treatment plans for students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification. While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the District's needs.
* In-person attendance is an essential function of this classification.
* Participates as a consultant in the intervention and pre-referral process to generate and
support interventions, accommodations, and modifications in regular education;
* Completes screening and evaluates as appropriate children referred for occupational
therapy;
Prepares assessment reports for all students evaluated;
Interprets evaluation findings to parents, IEP teams and instructional staff;
Recommends and develops appropriate treatment plans for students recommended and
included in the occupational therapy program;
* Attends evaluation and IEP meetings of students evaluated and on caseload;
* Participates in the development of individual education plans for students with disabilities
who require occupational therapy as a support service;

IEP;
* Reevaluates the treatment plans on a regular basis;
* Serves as a consultant to teachers in developing classroom programs, selecting

* Documents evaluation results, present levels of performance, IEP goals, treatment, and
quarterly progress reports in a timely manner;• Recommends referrals to outside agencies as needed; and,
* Performs related work as assigned.
