Position Details:
Reporting to: Director of Operations
Schedule: Per-diem, as needed.
Location: Cathedral City, CA
Compensation: $21/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Supervision and Safety: Monitor patients and facility grounds, conduct safety checks, and communicate with medical staff for attention needs. Ensure adherence to facility rules and document incidents.
Waive Testing: Measure and report vital signs, conduct UDS and pregnancy tests, and comply with company policies.
Patient Interaction and Support: Maintain respectful and professional interactions with patients, offering emotional support, referring clinical concerns to therapy staff. Demonstrate empathy and adaptability in addressing diverse patient needs.
Communication and Team Collaboration: Share relevant patient information with the Team Leader, Supervisor/Operations Director while collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality care. Maintain positive relationships within the addiction treatment community and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Daily Program and Facility Management: Assist in patient transport, group coordination, and recreational activities. Ensure facility safety, supervise supplies, and manage patient discharge preparations.
Required Qualifications:
Safe driving record with a clean DMV report for the last 3 years.
Must be at least 23 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant behavioral health certification.
Work experience in the field of substance use disorder or mental health treatment.
Experience working with patients at various levels of care, with an emphasis on detox and residential levels of care.
An associate's degree or higher.

Many of the responsibilities require that you have a working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn the proper use of the programs utilized in this office, or those that which may be necessary to meet the needs of the practice. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for accomplishing the duties set forth below: General Activities (There may be other duties required of this position not listed below):
Identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives.
Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories.
Assesses abnormal conditions by reviewing physicaltherapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
Documents patient care services in electronic medical record system.
Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities; and in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
Essential Functions:
Attend to the therapy needs of patients as scheduled.
Perform 2-3 procedures and 1-2 modalities per patient whenever called for and if possible. Lower levels of performance could result in an increased patient load.
Complete all PT/OT evaluations and daily notes within 2 working days.
Complete EEFs, and DASH, and cosign's within 2 working days.
Complete Discharge (DC) list monthly
Maintain full compliance with CMS-Medicare regulations, and other regulations of third party payors.
Maintain complete documentation of services rendered, and communicate periodically with the billing staff to ensure the proper and timely billing of all services rendered.
RELATIONSHIPS: The Occupational Therapist should observe and conduct the following relationships:
The employee shall be responsible directly to the Director of Physical Therapy. The employee shall report to the Director of Physical Therapy and his/her assignees any progress, reports, requests, concerns, problems, and/or expectations in relation to the responsibilities of the position. Such communication may be verbal or written as deemed necessary by the employee or as directed by the Director of Physical Therapy or his/her assignee.
The employee shall interact with other office and clinical staff in the Practice. Such interactions should be collegial, professional, and contributing to the safety and pleasantness of the work environment at Arrowhead Orthopaedics.
The employee shall interact with Doctors, licensed physicaltherapists, students conducting internships, physical therapy aids, and patients. Such communication should always reflect the total commitment of the office to quality care and customer satisfaction.

The Occupational Therapist? will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor and his/her assignees. Maintain appropriate records and documents related to individual assessment and services;
Attend IEP meetings as necessary and maintain progress notes of student records;

Sensory integration theory and application in the treatment of autism, PDD and associated regulatory disorders;
An understanding of developmental foundations and neurodevelopment implications as related to learning/behaviors and educational success;
Clear understanding of the difference of an educational versus medical model in determining appropriate school based therapy services;
Understanding of state and federal regulations, guidelines and time lines.
