Qualifications
Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to two years of providing daily living care, one to one or group training/teaching, or medical assistance to individuals.
Substitution of Education for Experience: 12 semester, hours or 400 vocational training hours in nursing or nursing assistance or a nursing assistance certificate from an accredited college, university, or vocational technical school may substitute for one of the required years of experience.12 semester hours is equivalent to 18 quarter hours of college course work.
Necessary Special Qualifications: A valid motor vehicle operator license may be required.
Overview
Under the supervision of licensed health care providers, is responsible for lead psychiatric technical work of routine difficulty; and performs related work as required. This is the lead level in the Psychiatric Technician sub-series. Employees in this job class are responsible for the training and orientation of new Psychiatric Technicians and may supervise technician staff on one shift in a patient care unit or admissions office of a psychiatric hospital. An employee in this class may be assigned to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This class differs from Psychiatric Technician in that an incumbent of the latter does not train new employees or supervise.
NOTE: Applicants who have not been Psychiatric Technicians with the State of Tennessee in the last calendar year must complete an approved Psychiatric Technician training course with the State of Tennessee or pass an equivalent examination. Failure to do so may result in termination.
Responsibilities
Provides basic and/or emergency/psychiatric medical assistance under direct supervision of a licensed health care provider. Rescues injured patients and/or escorts patients to appropriate areas during the event of an emergency.
Establishes unit goals and priorities based on divisional policy, production, and resources to ensure adequate coverage on units; coordinates workload of Psychiatric Technician staff on a unit to ensure adequate patient care; and provides recommendations regarding Psychiatric Technicians' performance evaluations based on identified progress in work environment.
Teaches patients to function at the highest daily living level possible through demonstration, one-on-one instruction, videos, or booklets. Promotes social interaction by encouraging patient participation in group activities and/or discussions.
Identifies problematic situations between staff and patients and takes appropriate corrective action (e.g., intervenes when a staff member is having difficulties interacting with a patient.). Restrains patients to prevent injuries to themselves and others.
Reports to immediate supervisor observed progression or regression in patients that may indicate training/treatment need changes. Meets with other staff to discuss and document patient behavior or any other hospital situations that have occurred.
Cleans the work area, supplies, and equipment to ensure a sanitary living environment. Inspects patients' belongings, rooms, and other patient areas to check for contraband, safety and health issues, equipment functioning, or other problems or issues.
Explains HIPAA laws, patients' rights, and other information to patients, families, and/or conservators. Explains admission, vital sign, laboratory procedures, and routine ancillary services to patients.
Maintains current information and adheres to the Health Information Portability and Privacy Act (HIPAA) and other regularity standards relevant to job duties. Attends annual and periodic in-service training to keep up-to-date on the latest methods and technologies relevant to job duties.

POSITION SUMMARY
Personnel in this position function under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. He or she assists the clinical team in patient care, including psycho-educational group presentations, monitoring of patients, and admission of patients to their respective unit.

Position Summary: To perform a combination of behavioral health clinical responsibilities, including enrollment assessments to MHC services, and therapy with Consumers. This role will serve enrollment, and therapy needs remotely via telephone and telehealth, and report to MHC locations to conduct in person therapy when needs arise for continuity of care.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform enrollment process for individuals who have been referred to MHC, evaluating needs for all service lines (Care Management, Medication Management, Therapy).
Complete all enrollment assessment documentation to organizational standards.
Disposition Consumer to appropriate external resources for other mental health services when ineligible for MHC services.
Identify individuals that are in need of crisis services rather than a routine intake. If appropriate, facilitate crisis intervention.
Assist in resolving any grievance received from a consumer regarding referral.
Provide quick access to care via high responsiveness and proactive engagement to eligible individuals and referral partners.
Utilize Intake Committee for all Consumers who meet criteria who have a history of violence, sexual crimes or serious criminal activity. Contact Consumer with decision.
Engage in therapy with Consumers experiencing serious and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbances, substance abuse, suicidality, relationship issues, and other stressors.
Utilize evidence based therapeutic modalities to counsel Consumers and their supports, via individual, parent/caregiver, and group sessions, to assist in overcoming challenges, utilizing coping skills, and improving outcomes.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with Consumers based on clinical experience and knowledge.
Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, establishing and maintaining contact with other community partners.
Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and Consumers' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
Refer Consumers or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
Meet with families, clinic providers, care managers and other team members to collaborate on Consumer goals and improve their outcomes.
Collaborate with other staff members, primary care practice partners including pediatricians, doctors, nurse practitioners, office staff, and referral sources as assigned to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
Meet productivity standards as indicated by department goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform face-to-face intake for consumers who have been referred to MHC and assess for care management, medication management or therapy eligibility.

Encourage consumers to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in consumer's status.
Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.

Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality, therapeutic services to clients, ensuring their mental health and well-being. The Therapist is responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with other internal and external professionals. This role also involves participating in outreach and marketing efforts to promote services and attract new referrals, contributing to the overall mission of delivering comprehensive mental health care.
Perform comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to determine individuals' needs and appropriate interventions.
Utilize standardized assessment tools and techniques to gather relevant information.
Create individualized treatment plans in collaboration with individuals, families, and the treatment team.
Set measurable goals and objectives tailored to individuals' needs.
Deliver therapeutic interventions in individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
Implement therapeutic techniques to address various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders.
Provide consistent and comprehensive services to all assigned individuals on your caseload.
Ensure regular contact and follow-up with individuals to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Accurately document all client interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation within established timeframes per company policy.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
Work closely with other professionals as a multidisciplinary treatment team, to provide holistic care.
Participate in regular treatment team meetings to discuss progress and treatment strategies of individuals served.
Provide immediate support and intervention during crisis situations.
Develop safety plans and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
Engage in community outreach to promote mental health services and attract new clients.
Connect individuals and families with additional resources and support services as needed.
Stay current with best practices, new treatment modalities, and emerging trends in mental health therapy.
Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, disseminate information, and resolve complaints or concerns.
Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related mental health field is required for this position.
Minimum of two years' experience working with children and/or families, which may include internships.
Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
