Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. CAT required, or must be actively pursuing and have completed 25% of CAT certification requirements. Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with admits by following all steps and protocols of orientation, including conducting searches and cataloging of personal items. Assist in searches, inspections, checks, and investigations as part of treatment procedures. Align and operate within the Medical and Clinical teams treatment plan for each client. Communicate and collaborate with supervisors and clinicians regarding client issues and notable progress. Identify emergency signals and situations and respond appropriately. Document client notes in appropriate systems. Ensure client engagement in programming and activities. Provide activity and appointment transportation for clients. Administer Urinalysis (UA) or Breath Alcohol (BA) tests as needed and document appropriately. Carry out CIWA, COWS and Vitals. Complete routine checks. Monitor and/or administer medications, answer questions regarding medications and use discretion with PRN requests. Conduct medication counts. Facilitate client group sessions and ensure proper documentation. Act as mentor to new staff who are learning and shadowing. Participate in shift exchange, discussing any pertinent changes in the clients status (clinical, medical, behavioral, etc.). Create and maintain a safe, comfortable, and client-focused treatment environment by using therapeutic skills. Maintain strict confidentiality, HIPAA, and 42CFR Part 2 compliance. Adhere to facility policy and procedures, State & Federal law, and accrediting agency regulations and standards. Other duties as assigned. In collaboration with the Nurse and Program Manager, the Youth Residential Recovery Co-Occurring Therapist oversees youth, (13 through 18.5 years of age), admitted to the Jefferson Center's Treatment Residential Recovery program. Provides ongoing evaluation of consumer's safety, assessing suicide and homicide risk. Provides individual, group, and family therapy as well as case management and/or care coordination to consumers with substance use disorders or substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Essential Duties: Engages patients in the Youth Residential Recovery program, appropriate family members, and referral sources/stakeholders and consented to by consumer. As appropriate, complete involuntary mental health holds (27-65) according to Center protocol and assist Supervisor with Involuntary Commitment protocols. Provides behavioral and diagnostic assessments. Completes initial engagement strategies, treatment and discharge planning, and case management/wrap around services. Provides ASAM level of care assessment and referral, as needed to meet client needs and fulfill insurance/payor requirements. Participate in Evidenced Based Practices and other agency initiatives (DBT, PCOMS, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, etc.) for mental health and co-occurring substance use services. Works constructively with clients to reach agreed upon outcomes, and coordinates care with internal and external providers. Assists the Coordinator in the oversight of the milieu, provides de-escalation and crisis-intervention as needed and identifies and addresses clinical concerns. Obtains collateral information from family, significant others, and other providers as appropriate. Provides individual, family and group therapy as appropriate to the needs of the client. Expected to carry a caseload of 6-7 clients whom they meet with twice weekly and complete related documentation in a timely way. Schedule does involve one weekend day weekly to support the 24/7 programmatic format but is otherwise flexible. Understands and will adhere to mandated reporting requirements. Assist the Program Coordinator in the coordination of the weekly interdisciplinary team meeting to review consumer treatment and discharge planning. Serves as a liaison with community agencies and referral sources with regard to consumer needs. Adheres to all Jefferson Center Policies and Procedures and maintains appropriate professional standards. Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) additional job duties: Attends the quarterly CAS/LAC business meetings in order to stay abreast of regulations and policies governing substance abuse treatment. Participate in CAS/LAC group supervision per OBH regulations. CAS (CAC II), 2 hours each month, CAS (CAC III) or LAC one hour each month. Provide CAS/LAC in training group or individual supervision to staff obtaining their certification (CAS (CAC III) or LAC only) and/or assist with supervising or mentoring new license eligible clinicians. Completes required paperwork for substance use treatment license and billing to Medicaid and other funding sources, including Substance Abuse ROI, Substance Use Assessment, Out-of-State Offender Questionnaire, Infectious Disease Acknowledgment Statement, ASAM Criteria, URICA, pre-authorizations for next level of care and DACOD's. Requirements: Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required: Master's Degree in counseling, psychology or related field required. One year of SUD or relevant experience required.
