BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN DEPARTMENT: CLINICAL REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF CLINICAL SUPPORT STAFF SUPERVISES: N/A Entry Level Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science, CRC, or CRSS preferred; one year experience in alcohol/drug treatment with direct patient contact preferred. Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of chemical dependency recovery. Maintain records and have good communication skills. 1. Must have valid driver's license and good driving record. 2. Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately one (1) mile per every eight (8) hour shift. 3. Assist patients to and from activities, medication times, and meals when unable to physically walk. 9. Assist the counselor as assigned and engage in appropriate documentation. 10. Demonstrates the ability to assist patients in overcoming their denial and resistance to treatment and completion of treatment goals. 12. Demonstrated the ability to manage communities, redirect behavior, and document shift reports. 13. Attend staff training and programs as directed. 14. Assist nurses as directed by supervisor. 15. Drive patients to and from appointments, to include patient outings, as directed. 16. Drive to purchase patient sundries and miscellaneous items; including nicotine products as directed. 17.
