JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN
DEPARTMENT: Direct Care / Tech
REPORTS TO: Mileu Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. One year experience in alcohol/drug treatment, and demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of chemical dependency recovery with direct patient contact preferred.
2. Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
3. Must have valid driver's license and auto insurance (provides confirmation to be eligible for company coverage).
4. Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately one (1) mile per every eight (8) hour shift.
5. Able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to one (1) hour.
6. Capable of administering CPR (certification provided if needed).
7. Must be capable of seeing and hearing activity in their surroundings constantly.
8. Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
9. If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, substance abuse or related subject.
2. Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) or related certification(s).
3. Active CPR certification.
4. Two (2) or more years working with people in chemical dependency recovery with regular direct patient contact.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES
Behavioral Health Techs are integral in the overall functioning of the facility. In all instances, the Techs will interact with all patients in accordance with established treatment policies and procedures. Techs may facilitate patient orientation, as necessary.
Essential Functions:
1. Assist in luggage and body searches.
2. Monitor and occasionally facilitate the book studies and recovery meetings.
3. Must be aware of patient locations at all times, circulating around the facility on a regular basis and document hourly checks.
4. Assure that all patients follow the Bradford Program and EVOLVE schedule and are on time for each assignment.
5. Supervise and sometime facilitate patient activities as directed.
6. Assure the patients are in their rooms at the designated time in the evening.
7. Oversee med line to prevent diversion and to de-escalate situations as they arise.
8. Assist patients to and from activities, medication times and meals when unable to physically walk.
9. Assist the counselor as assigned and engage in appropriate documentation.
10. Responsible for the adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
11. Demonstrate the ability to assist patients in overcoming their denial and resistance to treatment and completion of treatment goals.
12. Demonstrate the ability to manage communities, redirect behavior, and document shift reports.
13. Attend and complete staff training, computer trainings, and other programs as directed.
14. Assist clinical staff as directed by supervisor.
15. Drive patients to and from appointments, to include patient outings, as directed.
16. Drive to purchase patient sundries and miscellaneous items; including nicotine products as directed.
17. Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must not appear impaired or disoriented, but rather must present coherent and articulate speech, kept appearance, alert, oriented, and responsive to patients' needs and concerns.
18. Will wear assigned and approved attire and company ID badge at all times.
19. Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.
19. Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients, and prospective clients.
20. Regular attendance on scheduled shift.
21. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
Our PhysicalTherapists examine and treat patients with physical impairments through the use of physical modalities. The goal is to assist persons who are physically challenged to improve mobility and function, independent self-care, other skills necessary for functioning in daily living. We have Specialty Programs that include Balance and Fall Prevention, Spine Safety, Total Hip and Knee Replacement Program, and our Total Shoulder Replacement Program. He/she administers skilled care to clients requiring intermittent professional services and teaches the family and other members of the health care team. These services are performed in accordance with the physicians orders and the established plan of care, under the direction and supervision of the Branch Director.
This part-time salaried position works 24 hours/week, over 4 days in the week, and is eligible for our 60% paid days off program.

Physical, Emotional Demands, and Work Conditions:

Supervision/Competency Evaluations:
Supervision and competency evaluations are provided through facility monitoring activities, direct observation, staff meetings, in-services, management meetings, individual meetings, Employee Improvement Process, reporting, interactions, strategic planning, outcomes, and annual competency review.
Competencies:
Prepare and maintain accurate and timely patient files. Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with the treatment team accordingly.
Conducts comprehensive patient assessments and develops and implements patient treatment plans according to State OBOT regulations, CARF standards, and State Medicaid rules.
Provide clinical services, patient care, education, and opioid use disorder counseling services to patients receiving medications for opioid use disorder as part of a larger, comprehensive treatment plan.
Conduct individual counseling sessions. Provide patient advocacy and liaison services with community and regulatory agencies as needed and work with ReVIDA Care Coordinators to achieve these services. (State Opioid Treatment Authority, Probation / Parole Office, housing, food, etc.)
Monitor the patient's condition to evaluate the treatment plan's success and adapt treatment as needed. Assist in program evaluation efforts that describe and assess the quality of services. Comply with all Federal and State regulatory standards as specified. Use toxicology test results to monitor the success of treatment and as a clinical tool to help better meet patient needs and assess for an increased level of care (decreased program attendance); Never use toxicology test results in a punitive way.
File various patient paperwork into the chart and keep the patient's electronic chart complete and updated. Coordinates with medical professionals to facilitate intake and ongoing assessment amongst the larger multidisciplinary team.
Document patient progress notes and ensures that frequencies and counseling units are met per company policy. Obtains ongoing, applicable supervision by licensed professionals who have approved supervisors in the employee's profession. Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.
Must be present during working hours at the office for in-person meetings and access to a computer without violating company policy. Conduct patient intake and orient patients to the program.
Compose an interpretative summary, transition plan, and discharge summary for each patient. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Attend staff meetings as directed by the RCD, CCO, and the individual Program Director. Assist in program development activities. Participate in counseling supervision sessions.
Support organizational and departmental philosophies, goals, and objectives and, through own behavior, lead and motivate others to do so. Communicate with RCD regarding pertinent patient information. Regular attendance is to be maintained.

Position Summary
The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized Outpatient facility. Position is responsible for assessing the therapeutic needs of the individuals and families, and for developing appropriate treatment. Essential Functions:
Provides clinical assessment, individual and family therapy related to child abuse issues for children, adolescents, non-offending adults, and families, as well as the facilitation of psychoeducational groups for non-offending guardians, caretakers, and adolescents.
A minimum of seventy (70) percent of time is spent in the provision of direct services to clients
Maintains a minimum of 22-25 patient caseload
Has specific clinical responsibilities for each case assigned including, but not limited to:
Initial treatment assessments and formulations (psychosocial assessments; interviews with patient, parents and significant others to obtain data on the patient's personal, social, developmental, and emotional history; timely completion of all assessment tools used at intake including but not limited to BASC, CATS, TSCC, WASI-II, etc.).

How You Will Contribute:
Therapists are responsible for providing therapy sessions for families, individuals, and groups.
