Job Summary:The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a specialized and highly skilled role within Hope Services clinical framework, working directly with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT is responsible for implementing individualized behavior intervention plans for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who exhibit complex and often severe behavioral challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA), strong observational and data collection skills, and the capacity to navigate emotionally intense and physically demanding situations with professionalism and therapeutic intent. The RBT is integral to achieving measurable improvements in clients quality of life through consistent, ethical, and client-centered behavioral interventions. Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Implementation and Monitoring-Execute behavior intervention plans (BIPs) with precision and fidelity as directed by a BCBA, incorporating real-time adaptations based on behavioral responses.-Provide intensive 1:1 support to individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, property destruction, or elopement, utilizing proactive and reactive strategies rooted in ABA principles.-Implement structured skill acquisition programs designed to build daily living skills, emotional regulation, communication, and functional independence.-Conduct and document daily therapeutic sessions, accurately recording behavior data, antecedents, consequences, and client responses to interventions.Data Records and Documentation-Maintain meticulous and objective data records used for ongoing assessment, program modification, and interdisciplinary decision-making.-Identify behavioral patterns, inconsistencies, or emergent issues based on graphed data and collaborate in team discussions to address them.-Administer preference assessments and contribute to functional behavior assessments (FBAs) through structured observation and data sharing.Crisis Prevention and Management-Apply approved crisis prevention and intervention techniques (e.g., CPI or PRO-ACT) to de-escalate unsafe situations while maintaining client dignity and safety.-Demonstrate sound judgment and composure in high-stress incidents, using therapeutic rapport and established protocols to support behavioral recovery.Collaboration and Teamwork-Participate actively in clinical supervision, interdisciplinary meetings, family training sessions, and behavior plan review discussions.-Support seamless coordination of services by communicating client needs and progress clearly with family members, coworkers, and other professionals involved in care.Professional Growth and Ethical Practice-Engage in regular training to maintain RBT certification and stay current on best practices in ABA and trauma-informed care.-Uphold ethical standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), including maintaining professional boundaries and client confidentiality.-Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:Associates degree and current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).Minimum of two years experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent. Required Skills and Knowledge:-Deep understanding of ABA terminology, reinforcement systems, and data-driven intervention models.-Proven ability to work effectively in community-based environments with diverse clients and behavioral profiles.-Ability to interpret BIPs and translate technical guidance into compassionate, real-world support.-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data collection software used in ABA practice.-Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage emotional demands of the job and demonstrate resilience and empathy.-Skilled in maintaining accurate documentation, safeguarding confidential information, and responding appropriately in emergencies. Coaching and Support: Mentor and support Learning Support Specialists (LSS) in the consistent and accurate implementation of BIPs and proactive behavior strategies.
Behavior Plan Writing: Draft and update Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under Case Manager supervision and direction, ensuring strategies are individualized, practical, and culturally responsive.
Data Analysis: Regularly review behavior data to monitor trends, identify patterns, and collaborate with Case Managers to recommend program adjustments.
Training: Conduct 1:1 or small group coaching sessions on specific behavior protocols, data collection accuracy, and proactive intervention strategies.
Collaboration: Work in close partnership with Case Managers and Program Directors to ensure fidelity of behavior support plans and alignment with overall program goals.
Family Collaboration Support: As appropriate, assist in preparing materials or training support related to family guidance on behavior strategies (led by Case Manager).
Documentation: Maintain timely, accurate documentation of behavior incidents, BIP updates, data analysis summaries, and coaching activities.

Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential -(Preferred)

Strong knowledge of ABA principles, behavior reduction strategies, and proactive behavior support.
Previous experience with data collection, data analysis, and BIP implementation - preferred.

Role Description
We are seeking a Bilingual (Spanish-English) PhysicalTherapist to join our team as an independent contractor in Santa Maria or San Jose. This role involves delivering high-quality, goal-oriented in-person physical therapy services to clients in their homes and community environments. The PhysicalTherapist will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy sessions while collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive rehabilitation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform thorough patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Deliver in-home and community-based physical therapy sessions for clients with brain and spinal cord injuries.
Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and case management staff to coordinate patient care.
Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the NeuroPraxis team using Hucu for case-related messaging.
Ensure compliance with all professional, legal, and ethical standards of care.
Qualifications
Licensed PhysicalTherapist in California.
Expertise in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation with a focus on personalized treatment plans
Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Experience working with clients with brain and spinal cord injuries.
Pediatric experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in home health or community-based care is preferred.
Spanish-speaking required.
Willingness to travel to client locations as needed
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Knowledge and experience in Medicine to support evidence-based therapeutic practices

How You Will Contribute:
The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized Outpatient facility. Position is responsible for assessing the therapeutic needs of the individuals and families, and for developing appropriate treatment. Therapists act as the primary contact for clients and families throughout the treatment process and serve as a client advocate with the treatment team. Position acts as a liaison with referral sources, clinical partners, and individuals to coordinate care throughout the treatment process.
Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a high level of clinical skill in assessing the clinical needs of clients, determining appropriate interventions, and conducting individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with these needs.
Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports required for each client in compliance with State, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.
Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions for assigned caseload.
Monitors behavioral interventions for each client and provides skills coaching as needed.
Conducts specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience; supervises or co-leads groups with staff or interns when appropriate.
Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
Maintains therapeutic relationship with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.
Sets limits and hold boundaries in a kind and firm manner
Demonstrates an understanding of identifying abuse/neglect in client population.
Demonstrates effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation, involving other staff as needed.
Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
Attends weekly clinical, consultation and business meetings; present cases to be discussed as pre-assigned.
Completes documentation in a timely and accurate manner reflecting ongoing assessment of client's clinical presentation and behaviors.
Communicates client progress with the referral source, family, parent, or guardian informed of treatment goals and plans, as appropriate.
Documents in accordance with policies and procedures services provided, incident reports, shift reports, or department reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Communicates with referents, residents, and families appropriately and effectively.
Uses the referral process to build relationships with new referents and engages in collaboration with referents.
Addresses residents, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
Responds to clients and families with empathy and positive professional skills.
Qualifications
What We Are Seeking
Position requires a master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy or psychology. Must hold CA licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC), active associate number or intern number from the Board of Behavioral Sciences, in good standing. Position requires a minimum of one (1) year experience working with clients with substance use disorders and/or borderline personality disorder. Certification or significant experience in providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), strongly preferred.
Other Requirements
Clearance of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
