Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans

Therapists work closely with the pain management team to ensure that all individuals who are in our care receive high-quality clinical services.
Therapists provide services that are reimbursable by Worker's Compensation and will be expected to complete clinical and administrative documentation required by this entity.
What you will do:
Provide individual therapy to adult clients in an outpatient pain clinic.
Conduct weekly psychoeducational class sessions for individuals attending the outpatient daily Functional Restoration Program (FRP) at the clinic/via telemedicine.
Provide brief individual therapy to individuals in the FRP and evaluating their clinical progress in the program.
Perform Assessment and treatment planning for active caseload.
Provide clinical care informed by best practices in the field of pain psychology.
Refer to other modalities within the clinic as needed.
Document all client care in our EMR system.
Provide clinical care that complies with all the legal and ethical standards.
Assumes other responsibilities as appropriate to the position and organizational needs.
Qualifications:
California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) OR California Licensed Psychologist

General Summary: Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor with clinical oversight provided by the FWB Manager or designee, the Project-Based Mental Health Therapist-NE provides mental health services (consultation or therapy) as required by contract. The PB MHT-NE provides services such as individual/ family therapy and/or clinical consultation for the duration of the funding, set to conclude on June 30, 2026. The PB MHT-NE maintains current and accurate documentation of services as required by contract. The PB MHT-NE operates within the current best practices of the Mental Health field and adheres to Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Board of Psychology (BOP) legal/ethical standards, State regulations, and Agency policy.
Within a team environment, this position will perform the following responsibilities:
* Provide Services to enrolled recipients (60%)
* Services may include individual/ /family therapy to adults/children and/or mental health consultation with early childhood educators/caregivers utilizing appropriate treatment models/modalities based on initial intake and assessment. Services may be in the office, in family homes, and may occasionally be virtual.
* Complete required initial intake assessments/screenings.
* In consultation with FWB Director or designee, provide immediate, clinical assessment and intervention of potential 5150/5585 (involuntary hospitalization) situations.
* Maintain documentation of all services provided to assigned clients/families/early childhood educators in accordance with program and agency timelines.
* Individualized Child and Family Centered Consultation (20%)
* Provide and maintain compliant documentation of clinical consultation to internal partners on topics such as, but not limited to, mandated reporting (child/elder/dependent adult) questions, age-appropriate behavioral interventions, Danger to Self (DTS) and Danger to Others (DTO) assessments.
* Provide and maintain compliant documentation of consultation and client needs and create or follow-up on plans to support these needs

* Provide and maintain documentation of referrals and linkages to assigned clients to meet identified needs, including but not limited to: longer term therapeutic services, therapeutic needs beyond the scope/level of care of program the client is enrolled in , basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, safety), etc.

Job Specifications
Minimum Required
Education: Master's or Doctoral Degree in psychology, social work, or related and license-eligible in the State of California through the BBS or BOP;
Experience:
* Minimum of 1 year of direct experience providing therapy to adults, couples, families and children in a clinic-based or private practice setting. Experience gained during practicum training will be considered.
* Minimum of 1 year of experience, working with children birth to five and their families in any capacity (teaching, mental health, school, center, day care, etc.).
* Knowledge of trauma informed care, ACEs/PEARLs, mental health and developmental issues with children 0-5 years.
Professional/Technical Certifications:
* Must be license-eligible in the State of CA (AMFT, ACSW) - and registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)); must maintain current CA BBS registration in good standing for the duration of employment.

(1) "Dance Therapist" means a person who has a master's degree in dance
therapy, including an approved clinical internship from an accredited college or university, or a person who is registered or eligible for registration as such with the American Dance Therapy Association.
The Music Therapist, SF (Safety) is required to meet the criteria below, in accordance with Business and Professions Code, DIVISION 2. HEALING ARTS [500 - 4999.129], CHAPTER 10.7. Music Therapy [4650 - 4657].
(1) Existing national certification of music therapists requires the therapist to have
graduated with a bachelor's degree or its equivalent, or higher, from a music therapy degree program approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), successful completion of a minimum of 1,200 hours of supervised clinical work through preinternship training at an approved degree program, and internship training through approved national roster or university affiliated internship programs, or an equivalent.

The Rehabilitation Therapist, SF (Recreation-Safety) is required to meet the criteria below, in accordance with Business and Professions Code Section 17505.2:
(1) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in recreation therapy or in recreation and leisure studies with a specialization in recreation therapy. Alternatively, a person who does not have one of the preceding degrees may qualify if he or she has a baccalaureate degree in a specialization acceptable for certification or eligible for certification by any accrediting body specific in paragraph (2).
(2) Current certification or current eligibility for certification as a recreation therapist by the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification or by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification, Inc.
(3) No person shall represent himself or herself as a recreation therapist
assistant or represent the services he or she performs as being in any way related to recreation therapy, unless he or she at a minimum has current certification, or has eligibility for certification, by the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification or by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification, Inc., as a recreation therapist assistant.
The Occupational Therapist, SF (Safety) is required to meet the criteria below, in accordance with Business and Professions Code Section 2570.3
(1) A person shall not practice occupational therapy or hold themselves out as an occupational therapist or as being able to practice occupational therapy, or to render occupational therapy services in this state unless the person is licensed as an occupational therapist under the provisions of this chapter. A person shall not hold themselves out as an occupational therapy assistant or work as an occupational therapy assistant under the supervision of an occupational therapist unless the person is licensed as an occupational therapy assistant under this chapter.
(2) Only an individual may be licensed under this chapter.
