Position Details:
Reporting to: Director of Operations
Schedule: Part-Time| 24 hours per week |2nd shift, Saturday-Monday
Location: Laurel Run, PA (On-site)
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Supervision and Safety: Monitor patients and facility grounds, conduct safety checks, and communicate with medical staff for attention needs. Ensure adherence to facility rules and document incidents.
Waive Testing: Measure and report vital signs, conduct UDS and pregnancy tests, and comply with company policies.
Patient Interaction and Support: Maintain respectful and professional interactions with patients, offering emotional support, referring clinical concerns to therapy staff. Demonstrate empathy and adaptability in addressing diverse patient needs.
Communication and Team Collaboration: Share relevant patient information with the Team Leader, Supervisor/Operations Director while collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality care. Maintain positive relationships within the addiction treatment community and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Daily Program and Facility Management: Assist in patient transport, group coordination, and recreational activities. Ensure facility safety, supervise supplies, and manage patient discharge preparations.
Required Qualifications:
High-school diploma/equivalent or higher.
Safe driving record with a clean DMV report for the last 3 years.
Must be at least 21 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements.
Relevant behavioral health certification, preferred.
Work experience in the field of substance use disorder or mental health treatment, strongly preferred.
Experience working with patients at various levels of care, with an emphasis on detox and residential levels of care, strongly preferred.

Positions are 48 weeks per year on a School Calendar which includes a 6 week summer program. Evaluates those students on assigned caseload and determines appropriate program goals (both long and short term).
Evaluates new referrals to determine need for service/appropriate level of service.
Provides direct treatment to students on assigned caseload.
Schedules assigned caseload in conjunction with classroom staff and other related services.
Submits all written documentation in accordance with School and Preschool policies. Must adhere to paperwork deadlines, agency forms, and content.
Periodically reassesses student's progress toward goals and adjusts goals as necessary.
Assesses student's need for equipment (in collaboration with clinical and educational staff).
Responsible for recommending, fabricating, and adapting equipment for assigned caseload, according to Abilities First, Inc. policies and with assistance from equipment technician as indicated.
Communicates regularly with parents, classroom staff and related service personnel regarding individual student's program and progress.
Instructs parents, classroom staff and related service personnel in proper positioning, lifting and carrying techniques, ambulation and transfer techniques, and activities to otherwise implement carryover of treatment goals.

Participates in staff meetings, team meetings, and parent/teacher conferences as indicated.

Adheres to APTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities for a PT - PhysicalTherapist include:
* Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
Perform diagnostic tests and measurements, such as the mobility/range of joints, transfer status, stability, patterns and appearance of ambulation, strength and endurance of muscles, balance testing, and safety assessments.
Implement integumentary protective interventions to prevent wound formation and promote wound repair utilizing evidence-based dressings and topical agents.
Develop and implement appropriate individualized care plans, including manual therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and other interventions.
Continually assess and revise the Physical Therapy - PT care plan, and participate with nursing in the multidisciplinary care plan, as appropriate.
Educate and instruct clients, family members, or other client representatives, in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote the client's health, safety, and independent living.
Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations pertaining to client care management and services provided, utilizing a state-of-the-art touch pad tablet.
Qualifications for a PT - PhysicalTherapist include:
A current PAPhysicalTherapist - PT license.
Graduation from a program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association, as indicated by school transcript or diploma.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills.
Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.

You will work collaboratively with the treatment team members to ensure the treatment plan is meeting the youth's needs.
You will provide 1:1 support and interventions when required including behavior modification techniques and crisis interventions a strategies as outlined in the treatment plan.
You will support caregivers in their efforts to stabilize the child by providing information, guidance, and modeling of intervention techniques.
You will assist in the management of behavioral escalation by way of using de-escalation and behavior manamement techniques taught by the master's clinician and/or supervisor.
You will work in traditional as well as non-traditional settings (i.e., home, school, day care, community, etc.) to meet the needs of the child.
You will effectively document daily progress and relay information to team members, supervisors, and other staff as required.
You will ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
You will participate in individual and/or group supervision as required.
Hours of Work
Schedule and hours are determined by client needs. Services are provided in area schools, client homes, and community settings as indicated.
