Position Summary:
The Sales Consultant is responsible for promoting the Company's products and services by building relationships with new and existing customers in order to become our customers' most valued and trusted business partner. This outsidesalesrepresentative utilizes consultative selling techniques in order to maintain and grow sales of amenities, textiles, room accessories, paper, janitorial supplies, cleaning, FF&E and MRO products to hotels, management groups and/or additional markets withinan assigned territory. The main focus of the Sales Consultant is to help the Company's customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the Company. Sales Consultants receive a base salary with an opportunity to earn quarterly bonuses based on KPI achievement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining and identifying new sales opportunities within prospective and existing accounts. Make sales calls and presentations to develop and maintain a solid customer relationship to increase sales and category penetration.
Utilize consultative selling techniques, product knowledge, ROI, system tools (i.e., Phocas, GForce and Salesforce.com) and sales training resources to effectively target new prospects and market growth opportunities.
Continuously manage assigned accounts and take corrective action, as needed, to maintain and improve the overall customer experience.
Regularly consult with assigned accounts as appropriate, including new products and services, company changes, holiday schedules, product pricing or information changes and new opportunities.
Immediately notify management if an existing account is in jeopardy of discontinuing service or issues remain unresolved regardless of attempts to correct situation.
Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure customers pay invoices within agreed upon terms.
Regularly interact and communicate with various internal departments to provide vital information that may be necessary for servicing the customer. This may include advance notification to Merchandising of changes, increased or decreased product movement, new business, changes in proprietary product or other related information.
Assist in the set-up of new accounts, including Customer Account Application (CAA), customer order guides, pricing, order schedules, files, etc. Coordinate with other departments as appropriate to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Accurately forecast sales results and trends for a specific territory, group of accounts, etc.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred.
Minimum Experience:
3 - 5 years sales experience with proven record of sales success and history of accomplishments.
Experience in hospitality or supply/distribution sales preferred.
Experience in relationship sales managing new and existing customer opportunities and up-selling preferred.
Experience with trip planning, territory routing and account prioritization preferred.

The Opportunity
As an Account Executive at Plug, you will play a crucial role in expanding our reach and impact. Your primary goal will be to source potential new dealerships, onboard them to our internal platforms, and ensure their active engagement and transactions within Plug. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a company that's not just selling a product, but also driving a significant shift towards a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership to identify and target potential dealerships as Plug customers, focusing on their EV buying and selling patterns. Ideal candidates will be comfortable owning all stages of the sales cycle, including general forecasting to help assess the sales pipeline regularly.
Conduct outreach to U.S. car dealerships interested in purchasing EVs, introducing them to Plug's auction services. Engage with decision-makers at car dealerships to understand and influence their vehicle buying and selling processes.
Leverage CRM tools, primarily Hubspot, to record and track key information about dealership contacts, potential opportunities and outreach.
Help executives develop Plug's differentiator, outlining the unique value and advanced technology that Plug offers to EV buyers and sellers, setting us apart from other auctions.
Efficiently register new customers and facilitate their initial purchases on the auction platform owning the on-boarding cycle from end-to-end.
Be a key stakeholder throughout the implementation stage, guiding new customers through their first transaction, and ensuring a smooth and successful experience.
Provide exceptional post-sales support to new customers, encouraging continuous utilization of our services. Continue regular outreach to ensure retention is top of mind for all customers as we continue to grow.
Qualifications
Comfortable working in a startup environment where expectations are high and the business model is in a near-constant state of transformation. Change, sometimes daily, is the norm.
Cooperative, team player mentality.
Two or more years of proven experience in sales or business development, preferably in the automotive or technology sectors. Auto dealership sales experience is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders, including business customers and senior executives.
Experience with sales tools, specifically Hubspot, and data-driven sales approaches.
Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and support.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and evolving startup environment.
Base Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000 USD
Commission: Uncapped. We believe high performers will earn well into the six (6) figures with no cap on earnings. Hard work should be rewarded.
