Non-material handling:

· Bending: Frequent. Various bending and low-level positions are performed while working.

· Squatting: Frequent. Various positions required.

· Overhead reach: Frequent. Performed while working on equipment.

· Ladder: Frequent. Used when working on equipment.

· Personnel Lifting Equipment: Frequent. Used when working on equipment.

· Hand controls: Occasional. Hand controls are used for testing and operating machinery.

· Tools used: Frequent. Tools commonly used include screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, welders, and cordless drills…etc.

Material handling:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., but this is a 24/7 service position. This position regularly requires long hours (up to but not to exceed 14 hours) and weekend work.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business days, although out-of-town and overnight travel is expected.

Dock and Door Lead Technician Main Duties:

• Oversees and assists in the correct and safe repair of overhead door and dock leveling systems. May occasionally work on electric jacks, compactors, and balers
• Research and resolve issues to customer satisfaction within policy while interacting effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds
• Performs commercial and industrial maintenance and repairs on a variety of overhead doors and dock leveling systems
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems pertaining to the operation of overhead doors and dock leveling systems
• Works from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts. Wears PPE and fall protection
• This position may require some evening and weekend work

Dock and Door Lead Technician Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years experience installing, diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining commercial overhead steel doors
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Welding / fabricating experience a plus
• Individual must have their own tools
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Excellent communication skills
• Good driving record

Monday – Friday 7:00AM Start Time & On Call Rotation. On Call Rotation is typically every 4 - 5 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Able to operate power tools and equipment and is mechanically inclined.
• Repairing Components of Overhead Doors and Openers.
• Installing Components of all Types of Residential, Commercial and Industrial Doors and Door Openers in All Types of Work Environments (Sectional Doors, Airport Hangar Doors, Rolling Steel Doors and High Speed Doors).
• Installing Dock Equipment in All Types of Work Environments (Mechanical and Hydraulic Dock Levelers, Hydraulic and Mechanical Truck Restraints, Dock Seals, Dock Bumpers and Dock Lights).
• Loading Vehicles and Securing Loads Prior to Leaving Warehouse.
• Ensuring Vehicles are Stocked with the Parts and Tools Needed to Perform Daily Tasks.

Requirements and Skills:

• Working Knowledge of Electrical Components
• Must be able to climb ladders, handle heavy lifting daily
• Have good organizational skills
• Be hard working and very dependable.
• Possess a Clean and Valid Driver’s License
• Have a clean, professional appearance and good communication skills
• Team player
• Problem-solving attitude
• Ability to Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Physical
• Proficient in Welding (preferred)

Physical Needs:

• Ability to Run a Man-Lift or Scissor Lift. (Up to 50’ Elevation)
• Able to Use a Variety of Hand/Power Tools.
• Ladder Climbing, Ladder Climbing with Load and Working from a Ladder.
• Work While Sitting, Standing and Kneeling.
• Ability to Lift, Unaided, 75 Pounds.
• Ability to Drive Safely.
• Position Movements Include Walking, Turning, Stooping and Reaching for or Carrying Product, Stepping Around or Over Obstacles.
• Extensive “Over the Head” Work to Include Lifting Over the Head, Reaching and Working with Tools Above Level of Head.
