Overlook Home Care company history timeline
Fundraising for the Massachusetts Masonic Home began in earnest in late 1907.
In 1908, the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts pooled their resources to purchase The Overlook Hotel in Charlton, MA.
By early 1911, the Grand Lodge had raised $148,290 from 30,000 Masons (about half of the state’s membership) and felt that they had sufficient funding to open the Home.
The Overlook is affiliated with Masonic Health System of Massachusetts, which has been providing more hands to help, more privacy to enjoy and more ways to wellness since 1911.
The Overlook House was built in 1928 by Herman Case and Elvira Scritsmeir Raven.
Raven passed away in 1931, Mrs.
In April 2003, Overlook neighbors were informed the Overlook House was to be closed and possibly sold.
