SUMMARY
Constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs any plant electrical/electronic, and or instrument equipment according to accepted codes and safety standards. Makes necessary decisions in carrying out the job functions. Show the ability to work independently but has the capability to communicate his ideas and recommendation the Management Team.
Develops and maintains skills and knowledge of the job classification on a continuing basis by participating in formal and informal training situations related to the Electrical and Controls area
Provides and assists with the specialized training of other Maintenance and Production department personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs electrical and instrument work of a specialist nature in the diagnosis, installation, testing, repair and calibration of advanced complicated electronic and solid-state concepts (printed circuit boards, etc.).
Can safely perform the duties of Electrician.
Performs preventive maintenance and analyses work history to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Develops and implements a PLC PM program which will increase PLC reliability and longevity,
Ability to trouble shoot within the following areas and documents repair procedures. (microprocessor, pneumatics, PLC programming.
Modifies and updates schematics, catalogs. Assists the MRO buyer in determining parts inventory to support the maintenance function as it relates to automation within the plant.
Complete and maintain all the records, reports, and history files associated with the network. Maintains good housekeeping in the area and follows Electrically Safe Work Practices (ESWP)

Required Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to draft and follow standards with common national standards (NFPA, NEC, IEC, CE)
Ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical prints
Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude to understand and troubleshoot the machinery with which our control systems interface
Proficiency with Test Equipment (Digital Multimeters, Scopes and other various electronic test equipment. etc.)
Strong working knowledge of the following Manufactures hardware (Allen Bradley PLC5 and SLC 500, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Factory Talk, WonderWare etc.) for specification of the following
Expertise in the RSLogix5000 environment
Expertise in PLC I/O Modules (Point I/O, Flex I/O), PLC I/O buses (Profibus, Fieldbus, DeviceNet, ControlNet. etc.)
Expertise in PLC Communications (Ethernet & ControlNet)
Expertise in Allen Bradley Variable Frequency Drives and Motion Control
Expertise in SCADA systems
(Ignition
and/or RSLinx)
Control Reliable Safety Design and Implementation
o Safety Monitoring Relays, PLCs, Category III)
Expertise in starters, overloads, relays and operator controls
Expertise in Sensors and Sensor Software (Level, Pressure, Temperature, Proximity switches, encoders, pH, vision, position indication, etc)
The Ability to trouble shoot 480 VAC power systems as well as 24 VDC control systems.
Experience Pneumatic Controls.
Experience in Hydraulic Controls.
Experienced with Servo motors and Servo controls.
Experience commissioning and troubleshooting new electrical installations.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Word)
Possess a working knowledge of Networks and IT
Experience with Windows operating systems
General to expansive knowledge of computer hardware and the ability to troubleshoot
Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, objective-driven individual who is a quick learner.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows all Owens Corning safety policies and procedures.
Works together in Safety & Housekeeping to build and maintain a safe, accident-free work environment for themselves and others, changing the culture to place safety in the forefront of all activities.
Leads the effort in analyzing, trouble shooting, installing, and repairing any electrical equipment, instruments, controls, machinery and/or systems.
Performs precision work utilizing machines, equipment and measuring instruments of this multi-functional, multicraft positions
Insures availability of required items &/or inventory.
Utilizes journeyman multi-functional electrical, electronic, instrument functional skills and light mechanical assembly in order to preserve and optimize plant assets and to meet the needs of manufacturing.
Provides support and leadership to other crafts and non-craft employees in the performance of maintenance tasks, especially during breakdown scenarios.
Cooperates with others, plans and performs operational maintenance to machinery and equipment associated with plant operations.
Works from information obtained from simple or complex electrical diagrams, engineering drawings, sketches, equipment manuals.
Has the ability to interpret and react to written or verbal instructions.
Performs the job of trainer for production & craft personnel as required.
Includes participation in the execution of training plans, providing input for training records and input to the Maintenance Leader in the certification status for each maintenance employee as it relates to ESWP and electrical troubleshooting.
Assists with developmental or R&D projects.
Utilizes computer expertise to complete records and reports and manage data (includes SAP, work orders, inventory, failure & trend analysis sheets, checklists, requisitions, audit sheets, etc.)
Develops & maintains skills and knowledge of the job classification on a continuing basis by participating in formal and informal training situations related to the position.
Modifies and updates schematics, catalogs, and etc.
Make process equipment electric and/or mechanical repairs where:
Preventative Maintenance routines result in identifying a need to repair, replace, or adjust limit switch arms, proximity switches (for position), pushbuttons, etc.
Motors, remote stations or indicators require repair or replacement.
All electric or electro mechanical repairs required as a result of Preventative maintenance or normal plant operations.
Uses fork lift and other related mobile & material handling equipment.
Maintains housekeeping in the area and follow good safety practices.
Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.

5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or a similar environment.
