To adequately and efficiently transport product, raw materials, etc. from location to location within the manufacturing facility. Reads order, gathers ordered materials/doors manually or with forklift, sorts for proper stacking, applies place cards, stages for loading. Ensure all product is transported in a safe manner.
Responsibilities
* Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
* Fuel forklifts as required and performs safety checks on the lift
* Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation
* Places pallets of finished door stacks on wrapper with forklift
* Pull all production wraps lines as required out of designated areas
* Required to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day
* Separate all disposable material into the designated areas
* Must be able to work extended hours and overtime as needed both daily and on weekends if business need requires
* Position will require appropriate certification to operate equipment
* Operate forklift to load and/or move materials
* Supply production areas with needed materials from inventory
* Load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials and doors
* Navigates throughout plant, including populated and small areas
* Supports the manufacturing process through inspection and aid to machine operators
* Inspect doors and make minor repairs
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment
* Performs any other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
* Read/interpret schedules/tickets/shipping documents
* Strong eye/hand coordination and ability to stand for long continuous hours
* Self-driven, accountable, high integrity, open communicator, strong work ethic
* Required to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day
* Constant attention to detail and accuracy of material placement
* Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment

Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred not required
* Prior forklift operation in manufacturing environment
* 1-2 years of forklift experience with previous forklift certification, required
Pay:
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $18.00 + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to Vandalia and may not be applicable to other locations.

The Finishing Operator has responsibility for functions occurring within the finishing center operations. The Finishing Operator may be assigned to duties that include packaging slit rolls to customer specifications, operating the manual packaging line, cutting cores, banding, etc . Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices
Inspect general appearance of finished product
Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials
Prepare cores for machine operators
Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate shift/department personnel to ensure effective operations
Track multiple orders being packed at one time.
Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity
Maintain a clean, safe work area
Perform 5S duties and audits
Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed

Qualifications

The Print Band Operator will play a crucial role in our operations by managing the process of pulling parts out of molds after they have been heated and appropriately cooled. This position requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to good manufacturing practices to ensure that all products meet our high standards of quality.
In this role, the operator will be responsible for several key tasks, including pouring powder into molds, securing the molds to the machine arm, and clamping the molds together before initiating the heating cycle. Daily responsibilities will include maintaining a clean work area, identifying and addressing any quality issues, and ensuring that the molds used in production match the specifications listed in our computer system.
What You'll Do:
Mold Operation: Load, unload, and maintain molds, ensuring proper cleaning and trimming for high-quality output.
Slitting & Winding: Set up and operate slitting machines and winding equipment to produce precise bands.
Spraying & Painting: Adjust mold sprayers, perform paint prep, and ensure proper application and drying.
Quality Control: Perform inspections, make adjustments, and ensure compliance with specifications.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect tools, molds, and machines, and report any needed repairs.
Process Improvement: Support team training, Kaizen initiatives, and waste reduction efforts.
