Owens & Minor teammate benefits include: + Medical, dental, and vision insurance, available on first working day + 401(k), eligibility after one year of service + Employee stock purchase plan + Tuition reimbursement The anticipated pay range for this role is as follows: $19.00/hr **Distribution Team - Equipment Operator - Hiring for all shifts!** Performs warehouse tasks within the facility, primarily without the use of Material Handling Equipment (cherry picker, reach truck, double reach, sit down forklift, motorized pallet jack, etc.). Unloads, receives, and processes inbound shipments. Performs bin replenishment, moves product around the distribution center to ensure efficient processing, and prepares pick locations. Accurately picks, packs, sorts and loads outbound products in accordance with customer specifications. Ensures warehouse functions are completed safely, accurately, and on-time within company standards. **Shifts** + M-F 4:30am - 1pm (or finished) Inbound + Sun-W 2pm till finished - Outbound + W-Sat 2pm till finished - Outbound + M-F 2pm till finished - Outbound **RESPONSIBILITIES** **Receiving** + Unloads pallets and cases from inbound trailers and/or containers manually using the pallet jack. + Accurately counts, verifies, and receives product using radio frequency (RF) equipment and/or Voice Pick Technology; documents variances. **LUM Picking** + Selects products and quantities as directed by Voice Pick Technology and/or RF scanner and places items into totes on conveyor belt. + Removes empty cartons from pick module as needed. **Sortation** + Prepares sortation area by setting up pallets and carts for product. + Moves cartons and totes from conveyor belts and/or rollers and places on pallets and/or carts according to assigned batch. **Loading** + Uses RF scanner to ensure that totes, pallets, and carts are loaded correctly onto trucks for customer delivery. + Uses pallet jack to load pallets. **General requirements for all functions** + Follows general sequencing and process procedures. + Maintains a safe and clean work environment. + Follows safety policies and procedures and corrects or communicates hazards to management. + Places incoming merchandise into inventory. + Conducts physical inventories as required. + Counts and performs basic math calculations. + Maintains productivity and quality standards. + Performs additional duties as directed. **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE** + General knowledge of a variety of basic topics (math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc.) + Prior experience working in a warehouse/distribution center a plus + Warehouse/Operations certification a plus **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES** + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form + Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and meet performance standards/individual performance goals + Good attention to detail + Dependable and able to report to work as scheduled/have regular punctual attendance + Willingness to learn how to use new material handling equipment + Willingness to learn WMS Technology + Ability to adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures for safety rules and requirements received in training If you feel this opportunity could be the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply. Understands process flow, basic chemistry associated with unit, major line-ups, and all unit safety equipment, including isolation points. Reviews computer data and computer generated schematics to ensure process is optimized. • Physically inspects and monitors equipment and/or the work area using vision, hearing, smell, and touch, to ensure correct operation. • Issues Safe Work Permits, which involves high degree of proficiency on current operating conditions as well as chemical, personnel and process safety risks associated with operating unit. • Performs gas testing as necessary to ensure Operating area is safe to allow for specific maintenance activities to be performed. • Process monitoring activities include Gauge Tanks, read meters, accurately record data, taking product samples, differential pressure, chemical injection rates, checking for leaks, freezing, overheating, etc. • Performs "visual maintenance" by checking critical performance parameters such as temperature, pressure, level, flow rate, and/or vibration to ensure all equipment is operating within its defined operating envelope. • Adjusts local process parameters (temperature, pressure, etc.) to maintain product specifications within their optimal operating window. • Keep Company Vehicle Maintained and in good working condition • Coordinate Oil Sales and salt water hauling as necessary • Maintain accurate electronic or paper gauge sheets properly and note reasons for production changes • Checks control valve positions to ensure valves are correctly positioned. • Performs basic equipment maintenance (adding lube oil, water, tightening valve packing, changing filters and steam traps, clearing equipment, etc.). • Communicates with Production Foreman to remain informed of existing process conditions and relate any changes made or needed. • Performs winterization and summarization of equipment for maximum equipment efficiencies. • Monitors field equipment using electronic test equipment including hand held monitors and computer monitoring equipment. • Inspects safety valves, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, breathing apparatus, and other safety equipment. • Participates in continuous improvement of all aspects of the business that they are assigned to execute. • Understands and performs work according to environmental policies and procedures. Executes work in a manner that eliminates or minimizes environmental impacts (flaring emissions, oil spills, etc.). Attaches a high priority to resolving environmental problems. • Understands and follows all working rules. Continuously improves job knowledge and skills. • Demonstrates reliable attendance. Able to work independently where appropriate. Supports the team effort to execute assigned tasks and meet the team's business objectives.
