This role will act as the Application Owner for our largest customer based application. The ideal candidate will a have strong technical background (However, this role is not a hands on and will not code - there is a team that does this) with the ability to coordinate work with the team of developers and explain what needs to be done with technical teams and leadership. Job Description:
- As an Owner’s Engineer, provide engineering oversight on client substation projects.
- As an Owner’s Engineer, represent the client and provide best-in-class service
- As an Owner’s Engineer, you will be involved with consulting on select projects where your expertise and guidance is requested.
- As an Owner’s Engineer, provide technical assistance to the Welty Project Management Team as requested.
Successful candidates must possess the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of substation engineering or substation design
- Must be willing to travel (10-20% of time) to assigned project locations throughout the service territory.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical ability are required.
Responsibilities:
- Represent client on substation projects and technical matters relating to assigned projects
- Perform quality reviews on client substation projects designed by contracted engineering firms, focusing on one line and three line diagrams, AC and DC schematics, communication schemes, physical drawings, and perform spot-check on wiring diagrams
- Verify projects are following all applicable client standards
- Provide guidance to engineering firms on projects
- Perform site visits when necessary
- Interface with client’s engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updates
- Consult on internal projects when requested by the PM, Portfolio Manager, or Executive Vice President
Expectations:

- Any need for meetings should be determined by the appropriate Owner’s Engineering Lead and Executive Vice President.
- Share knowledge and train oncoming Owner’s Engineers.

- Timesheet entries and expenses to be appropriately applied to corresponding projects and should be submitted weekly.
