This position combines responsibilities of a Truck Driver and Shipping Forklift Operator. The role involves transporting light cargo between off-site warehouse locations using a box truck, as well as performing receiving and material handling duties within the warehouse. The operator ensures timely, safe, and accurate delivery, receipt, and storage of goods while adhering to DOT and company safety regulations.
Support and ensure compliance with all programs, policies, and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Fulfill assigned food safety and regulatory responsibilities in accordance with the SQF Food Safety Code, including promptly reporting any concerns to initiate corrective action. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and EOS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 30% Truck Driving - Operate box truck to transport cargo between facilities, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Conduct pre-trip and trailer inspections, secure trucks prior to loading/unloading, and maintain travel logs. Move product from warehouse to trucks being loaded, following Pick List and FIFO. Coordinate with off-site warehouse staff, carriers, and inspectors as needed.
2. 25% Forklift Operations - Safely and efficiently operate forklift to unload and unpack materials, then label and store items in designated warehouse areas. Verify product labels, names, and quantities received from suppliers; provide documents to Inventory Clerk. Move product noting proper storage and temperature conditions, as well as allergen/organic food controls. Accurately place items with team members and ensure FIFO compliance.
3. 15% Loading, Unloading, and Inventory Coordination - Assist with loading/unloading of trucks, ensuring cargo is properly secured and documented. Use handheld scanner to complete loads, transfers, split pallets, and inventory moves. Provide receiving documents to Inventory Clerk. Make negative receivers or purchase orders when products are damaged. Reconcile discrepancies and complete required non-conformance forms.
4. 10% Warehouse Support and Safety - Sort and organize pallets and drums, bale recyclables (cardboard/plastic), and maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization. Report and handle damaged products or incoming materials in accordance with company procedures.
5. 10% Teamwork and Compliance - Work well with team members to ensure accurate placement of items and safe, efficient warehouse operations. Take direction from the Warehouse Operations Supervisor, Shipping Lead Person, or Warehouse Dry Lead to ensure procedures are followed.

Will be trained to operate industrial vacuum trucks, high-pressure industrial water blasters, and other necessary equipment.
Will identify mechanical problems of assigned equipment and follow up appropriately by performing minor mechanical repair and/or communicating problems to supervisor for speedy repairs.
Will safely and effectively perform decontamination process of assigned equipment as required by project and company policy in order to prevent cross-contamination between equipment and job sites.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposed to weather, including extreme temperatures.
Work in atmospheres with potential for exposure to various chemicals that may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
Required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders to heights of up to 250 feet.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
CDL Class A or B required.
Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement preferred.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned.
Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays.
