Job Duties and Responsibilities: Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Perform daily pre- and post-trip safety check on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle. Document & Report any maintenance that may be required. Backs truck under loading hopper, starts mixer to receive concrete. Follows guidelines and instructions by dispatch personnel. Drive the truck to designated job sites for unloading. Must be able to distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions at the job site, in traffic and throughout plant areas. Assemble the concrete chute and attach chute to the back of the truck. Control the appropriate levers on the truck to discharge concrete according to specifications Wash out truck and after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck. Perform minor maintenance to the assigned vehicle--tire pressure, oil change, lube job--as needed. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have a CDL Other Skills and Abilities: Must meet insurability for driving requirements of the company. Must meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements and carry a physical exam card, which is to be kept current according to DOT guidelines. Other Qualifications: Must be able to work a flexible work schedule during busy season. Must be able to work late or irregular hours. Previous knowledge of construction and construction products is helpful. Must understand and maintain the internal and external customer service responsibilities of the position.
