π Why we're looking for you
Owner is in a time of hyper-growth: we've more than doubled every year, and we're on track to do the same moving forward. With this extreme growth, critical, complex, and cross-functional projects are appearing across the company. We're testing and adopting a new pricing model, we're bringing on a whole new segment of customers, and we're transforming the way we interface with our customers to name just a few.
We're making the first hire on our strategic operations team alongside our COO and Chief of Staff to take on the highest priority items across the company and drive lasting, transformational impact. We're looking for someone with high ownership and world-class bias to action who will be responsible for the following:
Driving high-impact, cross-functional initiatives
Identify and lead the highest-leverage projects that are too new or complex to have a natural owner within the business. You'll spin up and own strategic initiatives or functional areas that require urgent focus or long-term incubation-driving execution and impact where the company needs it most.
Supporting company-wide operating rhythms and goal execution
Partner closely with the COO and Chief of Staff to ensure alignment and delivery of company-level objectives. You'll help manage the operating cadences that keep the business on track for our ambitious goals, and you'll lead projects to course correction where needed.
This role is a chance to build and influence the future of one of the fastest-growing startups in the country on some of the most visible and high-impact projects.π₯ The impact you will have
Launch and lead critical, zero-to-one initiatives across the business: standing up pilots, solving cross-functional gaps, or incubating functions that don't yet exist.
Support key projects to βfinish the swingβ with quality and deliver the anticipated impact
Investigate and identify underserved / unfinished areas for high leverage project work through analytics and qualitative investigation
Support the COO and Chief of Staff to execute the annual operating plan through supporting operating rhythms, uncovering areas of concern, and helping functional leaders correct course
Act as an owner of this business pushing the needle on strategy and priorities
π€ Who you'll work with
Chief of Staff / Head of Strategic Operations (Direct manager)
President & COO (Close advisor)
Functional executives, VPs, and directors + product and data teams (cross-functional collaborators)
β
What we're looking for
5-7 years of experience working across Management Consulting, Strategy, or Operations. Bonus for experience working on hard operational problems i.e. supply chain, logistics, pricing, etc.
Proven track record - you've owned business-critical programs and launched 0-to-1 initiatives in high-paced environments.
An extreme bias-to-action - you attack every problem you spot full speed when others would still be having meetings about it and you take pride in the quality of your work
Strong analytical chops - nothing can stand between you and getting a solution stood up whether it's a back-of-the-envelope model in excel or an AI-powered data pipeline in SQL/python (it doesn't have to look pretty, but you can't be scared to try)
An innate problem-solver - you thrive in ambiguity and excel at identifying and structuring problems, distilling complexity, and getting to action.
A strong communicator - you can coordinate stakeholders across functions, align resources, surface risks, and keep teams rowing in the same direction.
π Pay and benefits
The estimated base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $185,000 USD plus a generous pre-IPO equity package
Other benefits include comprehensive health coverage, remote-first workplace, unlimited PTO - plus extra fun perks!

Read our Series C memo here β
π Our traction Since 2020, we've generated tens of millions in revenue and processed over half a billion dollars of online orders. 1 in 5 Americans have used an Owner.com website.
More importantly, we've helped over 20,000 restaurant owners, and saved them nearly $200 million in fees.
β Our team Our team is now in the low hundreds. We've got top talent from the most successful companies in SMB software, including: Shopify, HubSpot, DoorDash, ServiceTitan, Rappi, Faire and Stripe.
We'll be scaling even faster in 2026 to keep pace with our customer growth.
π Where we work Owner is a remote-first, global company headquartered in San Francisco, with a sales hub in Toronto. For a few of our roles we prioritize in-person collaboration at one of our office locations. Most of our teammates are distributed throughout the globe. Please review the role description and discuss with your recruiter for more details on location.
πWhy we're looking for you
Owner.com's restaurantβcommerce platform is growing rapidly, and our build pipelines must keep pace. We're hiring a missionβdriven Senior or Staff Build Engineer to own CI/CD across backend, frontend, AND mobile-iOS build pipeline experience is absolutely required. You'll ensure engineers can ship confidently to production and App Stores, quickly and reliably, with minimal overhead and maximal uptime.
Your builds power everything from Node.js microservices and web storefronts to iOS and Android apps used by restaurants, diners, and Owner.com's backβoffice teams.π₯ How you'll make an impact
Own and scale build automation - design, build, and maintain our CI/CD infrastructure (pipelines, runners, artifact storage, signing agents, self-hosted mac OS runners); ensure developers across backend, frontend, and mobile can iterate quickly without worrying about builds breaking down
Take charge of our mobile pipelines, with particular focus on iOS: automate versioning, provisioning profile management, keychain handling, automated signing, .ipa generation, TestFlight distribution, and App Store submission via Fastlane or native tooling
Embed quality and traceability into build stages - integrate linting, on-device tests (XCTest, Espresso, Appium), code coverage metrics, and build-state dashboards to reduce flakiness and turnaround time
Apply an SRE mindset to delivery - model build success/failure ratios as SLIs, define error budgets, track pipeline latency (time to green), and build alerts so broken builds are fixed within minutes
Automate for speed and reliability - build caching, parallel job orchestration, staging environment mirroring (via Terraform), and fast rollback workflows so every pipeline is idempotent and traceable.
Champion cross-team collaboration - coach developers on writing reliable Makefile/Gradle/Xcode configurations, secure signing practices, and branching models.
Lead incident response for build failure - serve on rotational pager for CI systems, drive blameless post-mortems, and automate resilient fallback logic (e.g. fallback runners, sourced caching).
Strategize adoption of next-gen tools - evaluate options like GitHub's mac OS runners, Bamboo, Bitrise, or Codemagic to support future iOS scale and cross-platform parity.
π€ Who you'll work with
Engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile in multiple time zones
Quality and SRE teams to drive observability and incident workflows
Product and restaurantβops teams to align build and release cadence with customer delivery timelines
β
Minimum requirements
5+ years as a Build, CI/CD, or Release Engineer, with strong ownership of automation pipelines in production environments
Proven, recent hands-on ownership of iOS build pipelines: code signing, provisioning, Fastlane or Xcode Cloud automation, TestFlight/App Store delivery - for teams shipping multiple iOS apps per year.
Experience building and operating Android CI/CD pipelines: including Gradle, keystore management, .aab signing, Play Store upload
Deep familiarity with CI/CD orchestration tools (GitHub Actions, Buildkite, Jenkins, CircleCI, Bitrise), runners management, and certificates/security models
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Ruby, or Fastlane config languages)
Infrastructure-as-code chops (Terraform/CloudFormation), containerization (Docker), and runner provisioning
Solid grasp of distributed build topology, artifact caching, and scaling runners on-demand
Ability to debug build failures across layers-local machine, remote runner, CI agent, or test environment
Excellent written and spoke communication-able to document flows, onboarding, and provide technical training
π Bonus Experience (Nice to have)
Experience working in fast-growing mobile teams shipping to both App Store and Google Play
Exposure to GitOps or mobile-focused platforms (App Center, Bitrise Enterprise, Codemagic)
Familiarity with crossβplatform apps (React Native, Flutter) and their idiosyncratic build flows
Prior experience operating self-hosted mac OS build farms or dealing with Apple's signing complexities at scale
Past work in regulated environments (PCIβDSS, SOC 2) that required built-in signing and verification pipelines
Background in SRE platform or DevOps roles with a focus on latency SLIs, error budgets for build systems
π Pay & benefits
The estimated base salary range of $190,000 - 210,000k USD along with preβIPO equity
100% remote across U.S. or Canada
Full medical, dental, and vision insurance
Homeβoffice stipend, choice of hardware, and support to set up private build infrastructure if needed
Twiceβannual company offβsites to align strategy and socialize
