Responsibilities:
The Family and Psychiatric NursePractitioner provides medical services/ patient care to patients admitted to ARS facilities and throughout treatment within the continuum of care. The Family and Psychiatric NursePractitioner supports and follows the policies, rules, and regulations of the facility as well as the standards of State and Federal regulations.
Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:
JOB DUTIES:
Provides excellent medical care with the ARS philosophy outlined by the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director. This includes the ability to establish rapport, systematically gather data, determine the readiness of an individual for treatment and change and apply accepted criteria for diagnosis of substance use disorders.
Screen for co-occurring mental health issues.
Must have knowledge of medications, assessment for medication complications, detoxification protocols and prescribing medications in general.
Screen for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) including psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.
Screen for danger to self or others with an evidenced based assessment tool-the Columbia Suicide Screening Rating Scale (CSSRS). Analyze and interpret data to determine treatment recommendations and priorities.
Screen for pain and understands treatment strategies for pain including pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic approaches. Strategies should reflect an individualized approach based on the individual's current presentation, medical judgment and the risks and benefits associated with strategies, including potential risk of dependency, addiction, and abuse.
Demonstrates proficiency using the electronic health record with all required documentation. ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, state regulation, Joint Commission standards and Medical Needs Criteria. These records will be completed and authenticated in a timely manner per policy. This includes but is not limited to the following electronic record documents:

Medication and ancillary orders
Understands ASAM criteria and Medical Needs Criteria provided and will document decision making and treatment planning accordingly.

Assists in formulating and supporting the highest standards of patient care.

Understands and abides by all safety/risk, infection control and other guidelines as required.
If Non-Exempt, clocks into ADP at the designated time frames.

Qualifications:
Graduated from an accredited Nursing Master's Program with a Family NursePractitioner or higher.
Must have experience in addiction medicine and behavioral health.
Familiarity with ASAM/ ASAM Criteria and other indicated healthcare standards are necessary. Communication skills to relate to all levels of facility staff. Self-motivated and confident.
Licensed Nurse with Master's Degree or higher to practice medicine, Family NursePractitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric NursePractitioner in the appropriate state, as applicable, required.
Must have a DEA to prescribe Controlled medications in the state(s) working. SAMHSA/ DEA Buprenorphine waiver is preferred at time of hire and will obtain within 30 days of hire. May need a protocol agreement to be completed by the NP and Medical Director.
Must complete DATA 2000 Waiver or Suboxone Training.

Requirements:
Education:
Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of
study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Master's degree in nursing
License:
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri
Experience:
As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the
credentialing instructions
Certification:
Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a NursePractitioner by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of NursePractitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric NursePractitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties)
BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross)
Job Duties to in included but are not limited to the following:
Provide a full range of outcome-based nursepractitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated)
Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members
Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician
Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling
Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization
Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters
Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
