Pay Rate: $19.00 an hour with $2.00 an hour additional shift differential on swing and grave shift ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Receive and deliver shipments (except cash) Verify Shipments received are correct items, quantities and cost. Maintain accurate inventory and rotate stock items by kitchen. Maintain receiving equipment(i.e. pallet jack and forklift once trained) Keep Dock 4 area clean by sweeping and mopping daily. Keep Dock 4 coolers and freezers clean and organized. Maintain kitchen coolers and freezers. Some computer work is required for searching inventory, orders and returns. Assist Sous Chefs with month end inventories. KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Preferred Knowledge and Certification: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience. Previous experience in the safe use and operation of warehouse equipment. Forklift Training Required Knowledge and Certification: Knowledge of food and beverage warehousing and safety. Knowledge of inventory control (i.e. First In First Out (FIFO) and dates that are close to end of life cycle). Food knowledge on food products coming in to understand proper food storage. Required Skills: Accurate and detailed-oriented Highly organized Computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) with Windows. Problem solving. Self-management skills. Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Above average math skills Proficiency in researching using all available resources Required Abilities: Ability to work fast and efficiently. Spot check product with catch weights using the scale provided at dock. Print verified weights on receiving worksheet using scale printer. Resolve delivery discrepancies - have delivery document changed by the driver so that invoice or delivery documents are correct before signing. Accurately update receiving documents in the purchasing system. Transport product to appropriate location (e.g., warehouse, refrigerator, freezer, food & beverage outlets, etc.) Assist fellow team members with checking in, stocking, rotating, and organizing product, as needed Responsible for following all processes and procedures of the warehouse including but not limited to filling issue requisitions, updating issue requisitions, delivery of product to all outlets, proper rotation of stock ensuring FIFO is in place, responding to the needs of all outlets and departments. Ensure all Non-PO packages (guest packages, samples, warranty work etc.) are logged accurately and legibly on the package/freight log sheets. Ensure proper signature(s) are obtained on the issue requisition(s) at delivery of product. Deliver products/orders (including freight), to the appropriate departments/outlets, as needed Ensure proper signature(s) are obtained on the package/freight log sheets at delivery of product. Assist warehouse management in the periodic Inventory processes. Help maintain the liquor tree, BIB, and Keg areas. Ensure product is refilled as directed by management. Responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the receiving dock, warehouse, refrigerators, freezers, and hallways. Follow departmental filing process as to help maintain proper document retention and storage Must consistently exhibit effective communication skills. All other duties assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum one year experience in warehouse/receiving operations. Basic computer skills and math skills. Must be able to lift 75 pounds without accommodation. Primary Responsibilities Assist in receiving dock operations by loading or unloading shipments Mechanically use a forklift, pallet jacks, or order- picker, using a full range of peripheral vision to operate such equipment safely Place and/or pull stock from storage areas of the warehouse Ensure that the wheels of all trucks being unloaded have their wheels chocked before unloading begins Pick cases from bulk locations to fill forward pick locations Stock forward pick locations in the bottle room and the full case line in a neat and orderly manner Restock bottle and case returns from customer orders Pick VIA orders for Salesmen and Customers Stores out of place product, 360 products, and 370 products as directed by the supervisor Sort pallets by size Handling of broken cases to include the re-boxing of good bottles and sending the broken ones to the dump location Leave equipment in good working order and free of all trash for the next shift Ensure the cleanliness of an assigned area of the warehouse Perform all duties in a safe manner Wear all company issued safety equipment Report any damage to the equipment and building to a supervisor as soon as it happens Perform other related duties as assigned Additional Primary ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications 1 year of experience Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and battery change station Physical Demands Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 56lbs EEO Statement Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, an Affirmative Action/EEO employer, prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type and provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
