Department SHOP Employment Type Full-Time Minimum Experience Entry-level Compensation $17-21 DOE The Material Handler position is responsible for supplying and assisting fabricators and other shop employees with the parts they need to complete their work under the supervision and direction of the Production Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The number one responsibility of the Plate Machine operator is to operate the Plate Machine in an efficient and safe manner to produce steel products for our customers. This includes: Keeps track of, organizes, and when needed labels parts, loose material, and pallets Works with Shop Supervisor and Fabrication Supervisor regarding the required parts regarding projects and order entry tickets Completes required procedure to report any defective and incorrect materials. Places material in correct location. Labels, barcodes, tags, bands and shrink wraps material exiting the shop per shipping requirements Coordinates with Fabrication Supervisor regarding material movement needs. Shags bolts Communicates material needs to Shop Supervisor. Communicates progress status for shipment to Fabrication Supervisor and Shop Supervisor. Job Requirements High School diploma or Equivalent, required Forklift certification, required Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing related experience, preferred. Attention to Detail. Education High School diploma or Equivalent, required. Physical Requirements The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Monday through Thursday, 10-hour day shift, 6 AM until 4:30 PM. Overtime as needed.
