Job Summary
Computes cost factors and prepares construction estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.
Leads the estimators and other staff assigned to his or her estimating team; manages their work assignments, performance and resources; and coordinates their training.
Works with the Marketing Department to review market potential and possibilities for bids which fit the company's strategic goals.
Promotes the company's capabilities and expertise when dealing directly with key decision makers in the owner or general contracting companies.
Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
Qualifications and skills
Meet one of the following education requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a construction or electrical engineering related discipline, OR
At least five years of electrical construction/service field trade experience/training/education, OR
Equivalent combination of the above.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Direct Experience: Ten or more years of electrical construction estimating experience while employed by an electrical construction contractor is required. Industrial, Healthcare, Critical Power, Government and Heavy Commercial experience is preferred. Accustomed to successfully bidding on non-residential projects that are at least $500,000 or more in cost. General contractors or roles coordinating with electrical subcontractors do not meet this requirement.
Certifications: LEED Certification is preferred but not required.
Experience with computerized estimating programs such as Accubid Anywhere or Enterprise is preferred.
Computer Skills: Must have accurate typing skills and be proficient in using email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, specifically Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and be willing to learn new software applications.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary
This position is geared toward upcoming & recent college graduates who are available to work full time. Training is provided.
Responsibilities and Duties
As directed by the Project Manager, develops schedules, budgets, progress reviews, billings, bids, change orders, submittal lists and reports.
Monitors progress, coordinates with the project foreman, audits site safety, and reviews productivity.
Meets with the project foreman to review short-interval plans, requests for information, change orders, purchase orders, and labor reports.
Supports the foreman and project manager, as appropriate.
Establishes and maintains a collaborative working relationship with the project manager and foreman by providing timely, accurate, and complete information and by answering questions and requests.
Position Qualifications and Skills
Education: Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Construction or Mechanical Engineering related discipline, or be on track to complete this degree prior to starting work in Spring/Summer 2026 . A High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Must be interested in pursuing a career in the mechanical construction industry.
Must be available to work full-time.
Related work experience is not required. However, applicants with related work experience such as internships are preferred.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Commercial HVAC Service Technician
As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for Servicing, troubleshooting, and cleaning heating and cooling equipment and the related (i.e., forced air, hydronic, split systems, package units, make up air and exhaust systems, controls). You will also be responsible for new installations including pump alignment, VFD, chillers, boilers, AHUs, and other HVAC related equipment.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Build strong customer relationships with new and existing customers.
Work as liaison between engineers and owners' representatives during commissioning efforts while protecting Company's interest.
Provides preventive maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
Troubleshoots units that are not working and replaces parts that are defective.
Repairs refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, control systems, and humidity and temperature control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair all electrical and mechanical components of HVAC equipment.
Provides startups and troubleshooting for a variety of commercial HVAC systems, meets with customers, evaluates their needs, and makes recommendations.
Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairing of commercial/ industrial air conditioning and multi-zone heating and cooling systems.
Performs related work as assigned.
Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
Maintains vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service.
Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
Assist in the new construction installation of HVAC equipment and piping.
Keeps current all manufacturers' products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
Apply local HVAC codes in a practical manner on each job.
Work with inspectors, suppliers, and co-worker technicians to ensure correct project work while abiding by all codes.
Provide excellent customer service.
Education:
High school diploma/GED.
Experience:
Willing to be registered through the local union.
5 years' service experience specific to Commercial and Industrial HVAC.
Experience with chillers and boilers a plus
Valid Driver's License.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical and control systems.
Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative in servicing customers and maintaining positive customer relations.
Successful completion of a UA Apprenticeship Program.
Chiller experience helpful.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction project management on construction projects, directly overseeing mechanical construction work.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle. Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Both the candidate and the vehicle must be currently covered on a personal insurance policy.
