Summary
The primary role of the Facilities Engineering Intern is to support and implement equipment for buildings and facilities. The Facilities Engineer Intern will assist in the maintenance and improvement of the manufacturing plant, out-buildings, and grounds.
The Facilities Engineering Intern must have project management skills and familiarity with construction practices.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist with repairs to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry and general trades.
* Assist staff facilities engineers with projects.
* Provide contractor safety observations and documentation.
* Update CAD files as required.
* Communicate efficiently with Contractors, Suppliers, OEM providers as well as internal equipment owners and operators for a successful operation of the facility.
* Ensure a safe work environment is maintained through adherence and compliance with safety guidelines, policies, and site procedures.
* Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-oriented attitude.
* All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Manufacturing Engineering
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Ability read and understand P&IDs, equipment manuals, specifications, SOPs
* Must be able to use project management software such as Microsoft Project. Proficient with MS Office products.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills be self-motivated and possess interpersonal skills.
* Ability to learn quickly and work effectively with little supervision when needed.
* Desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

Payroll, Time and Attendance: Executes payroll and attendance tracking processes including attendance hearings, issuing 10-day quit letters, updating system codes, vacation usage, and running necessary reports. Applies knowledge of leaves of absences policies, rules and regulations include the Family and Medical Leave Act and its interaction with worker's compensation and Americans with Disabilities Act to administer and track in relevant HRIS systems.
Contract Interpretation: Collaborates closely with customer group and relevant union representatives to ensure correct implementation and accurate interpretation of the contract terms, addressing inquiries, grievances, and other union-related issues for consistent application. Resolves employee union issues, such as conflicts, disputes, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fairness, consistency, and timeliness.
Investigations: Supports investigations within their assigned customer group, ensuring that all disciplinary issues, grievances, and arbitration matters are handled in a timely and effective manner. Assesses the severity of each case and escalates significant concerns to the Manager, HR Generalist as required. Escalates all types of discrimination charges and complaints in partnership with legal counsel on lawsuit discovery and litigation preparation. Leverages conflict resolution and critical thinking skills to conduct investigations.
Manpower Administration: Supports the talent management process for hourly employees within their customer group including: TFT /TPT placement and tracking, support skill trades hiring / apprenticeship program administration, outside contracting, internal and external hourly hiring processes, reskilling, transferring, retirement separation packages, tracking and processing, team leader 30/60/90-day review processes, and manpower reporting.
Health and Safety: Works closely with safety and occupational health leads to address employee health and wellness concerns, support safety audits, wellness programs.

* Has oversight for grievance process administration, ensuring data is up to date in the grievance tracking system and that physical files contain all relevant information. Works with HRM/Manager to obtain information that is incomplete/missing. Processes grievance payments when appropriate.
* Provide data/reports from GE systems as needed (ex: Seniority Reports, grievance data)
* Partner with the site HR leaders and Talent Acquisition team on external hourly postings
* Own hourly onboarding process
* Partner with Site HR/UR Leaders on creating process documentation for current HR/UR practices and identifying and executing opportunities for streamlining manual work using FLIGHT DECK tools
* Lead site-wide HR/UR projects, working with multiple business groups across the Evendale campus
* Serve as the point of contact for managers and union representatives for questions and guidance on fundamental HR/UR topics and issues; escalates concerns beyond their scope to the appropriate HR Manager or UR Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in related area or unrelated area with 4 years of HR experience
* Minimum 3 years prior professional Human Resources/Union Relations work experience and/or relevant work experience (roles that involve the application of labor and employment principles, operational and business management)
* Minimum 1 year in a unionized environment

Corp Support Intern
The Corp Support Intern is responsible for implementing operational Installation, Services, Changes at the Campus, Offices and remote Copart yards.
