Job Description
SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing assistance in collecting, testing, processing and maintenance of field/environmental samples, which involve knowledge on fundamental field/environmental support policies, programs and practices while completing appropriate forms, documents and databases. Includes air, soil, water, and related areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides field services using standard field/environmental support knowledge in the collection and review of conditions, including taking samples, completing test kits, and taking, documenting and communicating results.
Picks up, transports and delivers results, samples, documents, materials and other items as needed.
Prepares vehicle or truck for daily operations, including documents, kits, supplies, materials, safety, and related areas.
Reviews, completes and processes standard degrees of logs, documents, databases, and related materials and information.
Provides fundamental support in the application and assistance to staff and management regarding field/environmental support policies, programs and practices.
Provides support researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve employee, management and related customer issues.
Assists in the review and implementation of field/environmental support policies, practices and programs to meet organizational, operations and management needs.
Assists with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; receives guidance and direction or escalates when required.
Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; experience in related work is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. One year of experience in a lab or environmental setting is preferred.

Job Duties:
The tech will provide stack testing services for the Pace MN Field Services Division to clients in most of the 50 states, including Alaska.
This position involves working at elevated heights on stacks and rooftops mobilizing equipment by carrying or roping, requiring physical strength during these mobilizations.
The tech will Perform a variety of sampling methods used for measuring particulates, metals, acid gases, sulfur gases, hydrocarbon gases, volatile and semi-volatile organics emissions.
Perform field sampling in accordance with EPA, NIOSH, and OSHA methodologies, field service QA manual, and client directed objectives.
A motivated individual would interact daily with clients, promote cooperation and teamwork among staff and follow Pace policies and standard operating procedures.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
IDEAL CANDIDATES will have an intimate understanding of oil and gas field operations (experience working in an O&G facility would be a definite asset) and have experience in performing hydrocarbon fugitive emission and /or leak detection projects. Our US offices are located in Denver, CO, Houston, TX and Pittsburgh, PA; however, this opportunity is a 100% field position and will require extensive travel throughout the USA. This position will focus on our clients in the USA (EPA Subpart VV, VVa, KKK, OOOO, OOOOa, and W compliance) but may also require occasional travel to work on projects in Canada or other international locations. The FE Technician will report to the FE Team Lead. The successful candidate will be required to take a number of safety training courses prior to initiating any field activities (CPR/1St Aid, H2S Alive, WHIMIS/TDG, Fall Protection etc.). Understanding of EPA Subpart VV, VVa, KKK, OOOO, OOOOa, and W Fugitive Emission Monitoring requirements
Knowledge/Experience on US EPA and ASTM stack testing methodologies is an asset
Experience in Oil and Gas industry (preference given to candidates with natural gas processing/transmission facility experience)
Effective computer skills (Excel and Microsoft Office are essential) and proficiency with Android OS
Ability to work 12 hour shifts (days only)
Ability to walk and/or stand while handling/carrying various technical equipment for extended periods of time
Comfortable occasionally working at heights in a safe manner
Willingness to travel
Valid driver's license
Preference will be given to candidates with an Associates or Bachelors Degree in engineering technology or applicable technical degree/diploma; related work experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, instrumentation or stack emission testing or a mechanical background are also preferred, but not required

Job Summary
Our environmental field technicians / consultants (Level 1) provide clients with advice regarding potential contaminant presence in a variety of settings including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. An ideal candidate should be an individual who is self-motivated, this “hands-on” position requires strong analytical and communication skills to identify a potential issue and convey the said issue to a client with remedial solutions when necessary. Through on-the-job training and certification courses, field technicians gain knowledge regarding state and federal regulations and in turn conduct surveys and produce reports as a knowledgeable party.
The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to advance. As knowledge, experience, and capabilities increase, additional levels may become available.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Conduct on-site inspections, which includes documentation of site conditions, sampling, and in-person consultation
* Produce professional survey reports based on inspection notes and sample data with remedial recommendations as necessary
* Coordinate with multiple parties regarding inspections while keeping all parties best interests in mind
* Adhere to all applicable state and federal laws and regulations and communicate that information to clients in a professional manner
Qualifications and Skills
* No experience required - will train.
* High school diploma is required.
* Prefer individuals with a bachelor's of science degree in construction management, biology, chemistry, environmental science, and/or a related science.
* Valid Drivers license

Begin your journey outdoors! Our Field Technicians get hands-on experience collecting data while spending most of their time outdoors in a hardhat rather than in a cubicle.
As a key member of the stack team, this role will be responsible for a full range of duties including:
Project preparation: glassware preparation, cleaning procedures, repair, calibration, and fabrication.
Project deployment, testing per prescribed methods, breakdown, and demobilization of equipment.
Record test data ensuring information on datasheets is complete and accurate.
Practice safety methods and procedures, and report all potential dangers and hazards.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

Ability to work in outdoor industrial settings, including climbing to and working on elevated platforms (50ft - 300ft).
Must be able to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening.
