Position Overview: The skilled and reliable Residential Shingle Roofing Technician will have hands-on experience installing, repairing, and maintaining steep slope, and occasional low slope, asphalt shingle roofing systems. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a crew or independently in various weather conditions. Responsibilities: Installation & Replacement Safely perform roof tear-off, preparation, and installation of asphalt shingle roofing systems on steep-slope structures. Install underlayment, flashing (step, counter, valley, chimney, and pipe boots), and ventilation systems per manufacturer specifications and building code. Follow proper shingle layout and nailing patterns to ensure durability, watertightness, and manufacturer warranty compliance. Conduct deck inspections to identify damaged or rotted wood and perform necessary repairs or replacements. Support quality control by completing installation checklists and participating in final inspections. Safety & Compliance Adhere to OSHA safety standards, including fall protection, ladder use, and proper PPE at all times. Participate in safety training and meetings. Operate and maintain tools and equipment properly. Safely use power tools and sharp hand held tools. Teamwork & Communication Assist crew lead in mentoring apprentices and supporting team efficiency. Communicate respectfully and professionally with customers and crew leads to ensure a positive customer experience. Be on time for all shifts and ready to go at the assigned time with all personal tools and PPE. Report job progress, material needs, and potential issues promptly to the Crew Lead or Production Manager. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite, including daily debris removal and use of protective measures for customer property. Requirements Working Hours: Generally, Monday through Friday, 6am until 5pm.
