Pacific Aviation company history timeline

1995

The idea for the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum began on the anniversary of the victory over Japan in 1995.

1998

Qantas raised its equity in Air Pacific from 17.45 percent to 46 percent in 1998.

1999

Revenues were FJD 371 million in the fiscal year ended March 31, 1999, with profits rising 60 percent to FJD 13 million.

2000

There was another coup in May 2000, which devastated the economy and led tourists to avoid the country.

2002

Air Pacific was soon in the black again, however, and made FJD 10 million ($3 million) in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2002.

2003

Air Pacific remained profitable and reached another record in fiscal 2003-04, posting net income of FJD 24.5 million for the year.

2006

The Navy offered the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum $250,000 toward renovation of the control tower’s elevator in exchange for their support of the plan which the museum declined. It was sold to the Confederate Air Force for use in air shows and later sold to the museum in 2006.

2013

In 2013 the museum planned to host 1,500 Chinese nationals from Amway China on Ford Island who were particularly interested in the Flying Tigers exhibit.
