In some cases, the developer will create a curriculum map, which provides a high-level outline of the program. In other cases, a curriculum map will already be in place and the role is focused on building the content of each lesson.
The pay range for these positions is $25-100 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Length of assignments and shifts vary depending on specific staffing needs of individual courses and programs.

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine at the UW. The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. Academic appointment at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. The selected individual for the advertised position is expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in thoracic, head and neck (THN) oncology. All clinical and translational research experiences and interests will be considered, and expertise and focus in THN malignancies is highly desirable. Fred Hutch and University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Medical Lab Couriers play a critical role in maintaining a strong data-driven digital chain of custody for UWMC specimens. We pick up and deliver specimens and supplies for client locations within territory that runs from Vancouver, WA to Bellingham, WA. We operate 7 days per week from 6:15 AM to 2:30 AM, on 22 different routes from 3 locations - UWMC Montlake Campus, Our Northgate Office complex, and our Renton Central Lab location. This is a part-time (50%) position and the route travels between the Montlake Campus and Northwest Hospital.

When a patient dies at a UW Medicine hospital, the care of the decedent and their surviving family passes to us. In this Anatomic Pathology Technician position, you serve as almost equally as scientist and social worker. We provide a level of service to our bereft families in both our autopsy and after death services that is unique to the clinical laboratory and provides an excellent professional growth experience.

Assist with autopsies with minimal supervision. Independently perform brain removal, evisceration of body and collect appropriate samples.

Develops habilitation or rehabilitation programs for individuals and monitors/evaluates their progress. Under general supervision, educate, prepare, and supervise audiology graduate students in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, and in the development of related interpersonal and professional/technical skills. Provide direct services to patients, demonstrating clinical skills for undergraduate and graduate CSD students.
The position helps fulfill the mission of the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences by providing the highest quality student-centered learning environment where undergraduate and graduate students develop the knowledge, clinical skills, and life-long learning skills to prepare them for professional careers and advanced study in speech-language pathology and audiology.

**The Department of Biochemistry has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer Assistant to join their team.** This position is engaged in the field of spatial omics technology development, specifically focusing on advancing automated manufacturing methods for high-resolution spatial transcriptomics platforms. The work involves integration of bioengineering, robotics, and microfluidics to improve the efficiency and precision of molecular assays.
**POSITION PURPOSE**
The research project aims to optimize and automate the fabrication of polony gel arrays for use in spatial transcriptomics. This technology supports the study of tissue architecture at submicron resolution, enabling breakthroughs in understanding molecular mechanisms underlying diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and kidney disease.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Automation of Polony Gel Stamping (50%)
Design, fabricate, and test flow cells to streamline gel fabrication.
Develop and optimize robotic control systems for automated gel stamping.
Troubleshoot and refine automation protocols for reliability and scalability.
System Design and Integration (25%)
Collaborate with researchers to design and prototype customized flow cells and robotic components.
Integrate hardware and software solutions for seamless operation of the polony gel stamping system.
Data Analysis and Reporting (15%)
Collect and analyze data from stamping processes to evaluate performance and reproducibility.
Document findings, improvements, and troubleshooting steps to ensure system optimization.
Lab Maintenance and Team Collaboration (10%)
Maintain and calibrate automation equipment and ensure proper lab protocols are followed.
Work closely with team members to adapt automation systems to emerging research needs.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and less than one year of relevant experience, OR combination of education/experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
Technical Knowledge:
+ Strong understanding of robotics and automated systems for precision engineering tasks.
+ Basic knowledge of microfluidics and flow cell design.
+ Software and Programming Skills:
+ Proficiency in programming languages used for robotics, such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
+ Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing mechanical components.
Problem-Solving Skills:
+ Ability to troubleshoot and optimize robotic workflows and identify performance bottlenecks.
+ Strong analytical skills for interpreting automation data and optimizing system design.
Collaboration and Communication:
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with team members.
+ Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team, integrating input from engineers and biologists.
Attention to Detail:
High precision in designing, testing, and implementing automation systems for reproducibility and reliability.
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Experience with 3D printing for prototyping flow cell designs.
Automation and Robotics Expertise:

Biology and Chemistry Background:
+ Basic understanding of molecular biology or biochemistry, especially for handling gels, buffers, or related materials.

About the Department
