+ Reviews and authorizes purchase orders; administering contracts; obtaining price quotes and bids; purchasing and approving employee purchases, ensuring compliance with public purchasing rules
+ Trouble-shoots and responds to after-hour issues as needed regarding the operational aspects of the facilities such as HVAC issues, fire alarm malfunctions, electrical outages, water leaks, etc.
+ Monitors the safety and accessibility of the facilities
+ Serves as the point of contact for the department for code (e.g. ADA, Fire Life Safety) compliance issues, accessibility improvement projects, and/or other code-related issues.
+ Monitors and oversee the work of external contractors to ensure terms of agreements are met and work is completed satisfactorily
+ Participates in the development and administration of grounds and building maintenance budget
+ Collects and analyzes a variety of complex data and information, including utility costs and usage

**REQUIRED:**

**Minimum Requirements**

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The ITA Department provides forensic behavioral health evaluation and services to patients at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning and at the UW Medical Center - Northwest and Montlake campuses who are going through the involuntary treatment act (ITA)/civil commitment process for involuntary behavioral health treatment. This includes patients admitted to the Emergency Department (ED) and medical units on the UW Medical Center - Northwest and Montlake campuses.

The new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning at UW Medical Center - Northwest campus opened in 2024. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in North Seattle, the new facility features 75 long-term civil commitment adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It also houses an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State. The six-story building is a beautiful place to work with lots of windows, natural lighting and open-concept spaces and offers amenities including a new kitchen and dining area for patients, staff and visitors.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Evaluate patients who are detained for involuntary behavioral health treatment at UW Medical Center and are scheduled for King County ITA Court
* Complete clinical and legal petitions/documentation in the required timelines
* Represent UW Medical Center at King County ITA Court, including testifying as an expert witness in ITA court hearings and also serving as proxy witness
* Act as a resource for questions regarding the ITA process and involuntary behavioral health treatment
* Coordinate with the assigned prosecuting attorney and other involved court parties to support the patient's treatment plan and to support successful testimony in ITA court
* Attend treatment team, utilization review, quality improvement and other meetings as requested/required. Attend scheduled ITA stakeholder meetings
* When video court and/or telehealth is not available or appropriate, travel between the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning and UW Medical Center - Montlake
REQUIREMENTS
* Advanced Degree as required by specialty
* Licensed as a psychologist, advanced registered nurse practitioner, mental health counselor or independent clinical social worker in the State of Washington
* 2-5 years of recent experience working with acutely ill psychiatric patients specifically involving evaluation of psychiatric safety, level of function, psychiatric diagnoses, and medications
* Two years of recent experience working in a hospital setting is preferred
* Expertise with the Washington Involuntary Treatment Act (RCW 71.05)
* Compliance with your professional Code of Ethics is required
* Maintains a valid Washington Driver's License and a clean driving record
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements

Medical Lab Couriers play a critical role in maintaining a strong data-driven digital chain of custody for UWMC specimens. We pick up and deliver specimens and supplies for client locations within territory that runs from Vancouver, WA to Bellingham, WA. We operate 7 days per week from 6:15 AM to 2:30 AM, on 22 different routes from 3 locations - UWMC Montlake Campus, Our Northgate Office complex, and our Renton Central Lab location.
This is a full-time (100%) position for what we call our Route 5. This route covers territory between Seattle and Bellingham along the I-5 corridor from Monday to Friday.
IMPORTANT NOTE
: The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) is undergoing restructuring that may impact all current route designs over the next 12 to 36 months.

The Customer Requisition to Payment Manager will report directly to the Shared Environment Director and is responsible for supervising Shared Environment supervisors. This person will also serve as departmental liaison between UW central finance offices and other stakeholders. It demands strong personal initiative, problem-solving abilities, as well as advanced interpersonal skills for effective communication with faculty, academic staff, employees, and the public.
This role is critical in ensuring School of Medicine (SoM) compliance with University of Washington, State, and funding agency policies and procedures across the full Customer Requisition to Payment (CR2P) lifecycle. The Customer Requisition to Payment Manager supports accurate revenue recognition and reporting, which improves operational efficiency and reduces financial and audit risk.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES**
**Management of Customer Requisition to Payment (CR2P) Program (60%)**
+ Oversee the SE supervisors and provide direct support in training and standardization of CR2P transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions across the School of Medicine.
+ Ensure all transactions comply with policies and regulations from the University of Washington, State, funding agencies, and the School of Medicine as well as ensure that relevant documentation is complete and accessible.
+ Review and standardize the training materials developed and maintained by the SE supervisors to ensure alignment of CR2P training and best practices.
+ Utilize reporting tools to monitor transactions to ensure they are fully processed and approved in a timely manner maintaining accountability and efficiency.
+ Perform analysis of transaction volumes and utilize the findings and trends to balance workload distribution across the team.
+ Drive process improvement initiatives in all CR2P tasks including billing schedules, invoicing, compliance review, customer service ticketing, accounts receivable, and more.
+ Report on data and trends to ensure relevant information is shared throughout the CR2P team.
+ Monitor and report on team-wide key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and highlight opportunities for training, support, or recognition. Share findings with SE supervisors and Director to inform staff development efforts and guide staffing recommendations.
+ Ensure all record retention practices adhere to UW policies and Washington State laws, optimizing both efficiency and audit readiness.
**Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement (25%)**
+ Serve as a liaison between SE supervisors, departmental stakeholders, dean's office business unit partners, central finance offices, and SE leadership to resolve escalated issues and ensure service quality in the CR2P program.
+ Act as a subject matter expert for CR2P systems, procedures, contacts, and policies.
+ Assist users with escalated requests that are highly technical and complex related to overdue balances, customer contracts, billing, and receivables.
+ Periodically run reports on ad-hoc banking transactions by SoM departments and analyze outliers to identify if Workday invoicing can be used to record such revenues.
+ Coordinate with SoM departments on overdue balances and work with UW central finance offices as needed to resolve aged receivables.
+ Communicate policy updates to relevant stakeholders to promote awareness and ensure compliance.
+ Collect and evaluate stakeholder input on the customer requisition process experience to continually review and refine best practices. Communicate updated procedures to SE supervisors and oversee the updates of their training materials.
+ Facilitate the customer requisition systems' onboarding process by setting up access and accounts for new hires, ensuring a smooth start for staff within SoM.
+ Provide education and guidance to department users on best practices and conduct regular drop-in or formal training sessions.
+ Maintain strong, effective relationships with the end users, UW central finance offices, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure cohesive collaboration and mutual understanding.
+ Attend meetings with other units in SoM and UW to align procedures, goals, and strategic initiatives, promoting interdepartmental teamwork and cooperation.
+ Act as communication bridge between UW central finance staff and end-users in SoM departments when there is a change in process, ensuring clarity and minimizing inefficiencies that could impact operations or workflows. This may include change management, conducting office hours, etc.
**Team Management and Development (15%)**
+ Supervise a team of SE supervisors, who supervise teams of SE specialists.
+ Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations of direct reports.
+ Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts for new supervisors.
+ Participate in recruitment activities, including reviewing resumes, participating in interviews, and contributing to the selection process of CR2P roles to contribute to team cohesion and performance.
+ Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
+ Act as backup to the supervisors by overseeing the team, approving timesheets, managing absence requests, and ensuring smooth operations in the supervisor's absence.
+ Provide input and feedback for personnel evaluations and the annual review process for specialists.

+ Connect supervisors with Human Resources to engage in performance management of SE specialists as needed.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

Commercial transport aircraft have undergone decades of refinement, resulting in highly optimized centralized alarm systems designed to direct pilots' attention to problems that require immediate attention while minimizing distraction.
The research project aims to apply this knowledge to the creation of a prototype centralized anesthesia alarm system, incorporating data from diverse anesthesia machines and patient monitors, to reduce the cacophony of noisy equipment that beeps in different and unhelpful ways in the operating room.
The Research Scientist/Engineer (RSE) Assistant will be funded to work on this project for the duration of this grant. The RSE Assistant will join the Gavia lab which consists of Drs. T. Andrew Bowdle, Srdjan Jelacic, and Kelly Michaelsen and 3 research study assistants. This would be an outstanding opportunity for a biomedical or electrical engineering recent grad (or soon-to-be), especially for someone who is considering graduate school or medical school but is looking for experience to determine which pathway to take. The RSE Assistant would be a co-author on resulting publications and may have opportunities to present results at conferences.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and prototype centralized anesthesia alarm system:
The RSE Assistant will be responsible (under close supervision) for building a hardware system that includes lights, sound, and a display screen.
Integrate existing device output streams (such as the anesthesia machine and patient monitors) to a central location.
Integration, analysis, and testing:
Integration and analysis of physiologic patient data (heart rate, blood pressure, etc) in creating specific and adjustable alarm outputs (sounds and lights and feedback on the display screen).
Assist in defining various alarm states with corresponding lights and sounds.
Ensure the hardware system will accurately display alarms relating to the status of a patient in the operating room.
Extensive testing of the hardware system to ensure appropriate performance in a range of scenarios.

Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager, the Senior Graduate Education Specialist is independently responsible for developing and delivering training and professional development content for workshops and seminars designed to support the research trainee community, as well as provide resources and guidance to graduate program faculty leadership and advisors. This position partners with SoM and interdisciplinary graduate programs to provide resources and guidance in areas related to research education and training for both graduate students and research postdoctoral scholars, including professional development; curriculum and handbooks; recruitment and admissions; and scholarships and fellowships. This role partners closely with the other members of the Administrative Services Unit, particularly the Senior Outreach Specialist, on planning and executing education-related workshops and school-wide events such as the PhD hooding ceremony and the research mentor education program. Strong organizational and leadership skills are required to manage relationships, deadlines and competing priorities.
This position has the lead responsibility within RGE for partnering with the Associate Dean for Research Education and Training and other faculty leaders and administrative directors to provide biomedical research training resources appropriate for both graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. The Senior Graduate Education Specialist must exercise independent judgement and ownership of managing fellowship and scholarship allocations and notifications; supporting committees, councils, and recurring stakeholder meetings; and supporting student organizations. The scope of this position is UW wide, partnering and collaborating with Public Health, Engineering, other UW Health Sciences schools, UW Bothell Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Program, and with regional partner institutions (e.g., Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Allen Institute, Gonzaga University, Seattle Children's Research Institute, others).

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Program Management (75%)**
+ Plan and implement workshop and seminar content for the SoM's research trainee community, encompassing programs such as the Bioscience Career Seminar Series, Inclusive Leadership Workshop, Future Faculty Fellows, Science Teaching Experience Program (STEP).
+ Coordinates closely with the team to support large school-wide events honoring research trainees such as the PhD Welcome Event, PhD Hooding Ceremony, and fellowship receptions.
+ Works closely with the Associate Dean for Research Education and Training and Director of Research and Graduate Education to implement strategies that enhance infrastructure, provide data and analysis, foster collaboration, streamline processes, and maximize opportunities for the achievements PhD graduate students and research postdoctoral scholars and fellows.
+ Works closely with the Senior Outreach Specialist and the Director of Research Mentor Education to plan and implement the Research Mentor Education program throughout the academic year.
+ Works closely with the Data and Analytics Unit on the development and presentation of new metrics and reporting resources to programs and department leaders related to the support and development of research trainees.
+ Works closely with the Director and Associate Director to strategize support and infrastructure to directors and administrators of SoM institutional training grants.
+ Works closely with the Director to provide detailed and easily accessible guidance on compliant student employment best practices, policies and procedures.
+ Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with PhD programs' faculty Graduate Program Coordinators (GPCs) and staff Graduate Program Advisor (GPAs) to provide resources in support of each program's goals.
+ Conducts surveys and gathers important information required for strategic planning and analysis at both the SoM and departmental levels.
+ Supports student organization and affiliate group facilitators in meeting their community building goals through guidance, relationship management, and resources.
+ Represents SoM at school and campus-wide meetings and processes related to graduate programs and research postdoctoral scholars.
**Budget and Financial Responsibilities (10%)**
+ Monitor and track budgets for assigned programs.
+ Work with the Administrative Manager to closely manage financial allocations of school-wide scholarships and fellowships while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
+ Monitor student organization activities for compliance with financial requirements.
+ Make budget recommendations to leadership related to resources and awards provided to research trainees.
**Communications and Stakeholder Engagement (10%)**
+ Works closely with the Senior Outreach Specialist to develop internal communications to research trainees and mentors.
+ Partner with department leadership and Alumni Association teams on strategic engagement of graduating students to build a strong PhD alumni community.
+ Develop and refine career development on-demand resources for postdoctoral trainees.
+ Create and adapt guides and materials for prospective students, new student orientation, graduating students, and alumni.
+ Serve as a point of contact for inquiries regarding education and training resources and services.
**Other duties (5%)**
+ Administratively support various committees including Graduate Program Coordinators (GPCs), Graduate Program Advisors (GPAs), Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program directors, and T32 peer networks.
+ Assure standard operating procedures are accurate, current, and utilized.
+ Routinely provide backup to other team members, including the Senior Outreach Specialist, Assistant to the Vice Dean, and Administrative Services Unit Manager as needed.
+ Serve as lead staff within the Office of Research and Graduate Education for ad hoc postdoctoral scholar and graduate education support needs.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

General Description
The Vice Chair reports to the Department Chair and School's Associate Dean of Administration and Operations and serves as the business manager and senior administrative support representative for the Department. As such, the Vice Chair has a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including: financial planning/management, budget development, supervision of the Department's classified and exempt staff, personnel, payroll, purchasing, special project support, and other administrative functions for the School of Medicine.
As a UW SoM Department Vice Chair of Finance and Administration, the incumbent carries out duties prescribed by the directing, overseeing, or partnering institutions and organizations. The critical knowledge and skills are organized into the following areas of management: Financial and Development Activities, Practice Plan & Clinical Operations, General Operations & Communications, Compliance and Risk, Research Administration, Human Resources, Facilities, and Educational Programs. This individual acts in an advisory capacity to the Chair, Vice Chairs (Executive Council), and various Department committees, providing financial guidance, background information, and management advice. In addition, the Vice Chair is the Department's primary working-level interface with the Dean's Office, the Practice Plans, and other departments in the University regarding administrative issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management and Development Activities (20%)
* Manage the financial resources of the department to include budgets and funds from federal, state, practice plan, private, University, and foundation sources to ensure ethical and fiduciary practices.
* Interacting with faculty and staff to facilitate the department's ability to achieve clinical, scientific, and educational goals
* Interpreting policies and regulations concerning the department's financial activities; ensuring compliance with the University's policies and procedures as well as guidelines from the federal government, state, and other research project sponsors

* Forecasts, plans, and reports practice plan revenue and expenses and develops budget models to guide faculty or the practice.
* Maintains revenue cycle management, including the evolving coding, documentation, billing and reimbursement developments.
* Serve as a primary point of contact to Practice Plan managers and compliance partners.
* Assists in interpreting and integrating current practice plan compliance directives and policies to ensure that billing faculty are in compliance.

Educational Program Management (15%)

Saint Martin's University College of Business, Engineering and Technology is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate instructor to prepare students for successful careers in data center operations and technology. This role combines technical expertise with teaching ability to deliver comprehensive training that meets the rapidly evolving demands of the data center industry.
The Computer Science Department offers three degrees, BS in Computer Science, BS in Cybersecurity and BS in Information Technology. We also offer 18 credit bearing certificates for Veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses through the Washington Veterans2Technology. The certificate program is run in either two eight-week sessions or accelerated two six-week session program.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to fast pace online teaching similar to 'boot camp' structure teaching in Easter and Central time zones.
Primary Responsibilities
Curriculum Development and Delivery
* Design and teach courses covering data center fundamentals, including server infrastructure, networking, cooling systems, power distribution, and cloud technologies
* Develop hands-on laboratory exercises that simulate real-world data center environments and scenarios
* Create course materials, assessments, and projects that align with industry certifications and employer expectations
* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure curriculum relevance
Student Development
* Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Data Center Technician, and relevant vendor certifications
* Mentor students in developing both technical competencies and professional skills needed for data center roles
* Provide career guidance and connect students with internship and employment opportunities
* Support diverse learning styles through varied instructional methods including online and hybrid formats
Professional Engagement
* Participate in curriculum review processes and program assessment activities
* Collaborate CS Dept faculty to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities

Qualifications
Required
* Master's degree in computer science, information technologyor related technical field. Candidates with bachelor's degree with experience and industry certifications will be considered.
* Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, or related roles
* Strong understanding of data center technologies including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and facilities management
* Experience with at least one scripting language
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred
* Master's degree in relevant field
* Teaching or training experience in technical subjects
* One or more relevant industry certifications (see list below)
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI)
* Knowledge of data center standards and best practices (TIA-942, Uptime Institute tiers)
* Proficiency in multiple scripting/programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or other relevant languages
* Experience teaching or working in cybersecurity (strong plus)

The Department of Emergency Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Research Coordinator to participate in clinical research at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). The Research Coordinator will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research in EMS. Research projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, prehospital whole blood, advanced airway management, and opioids. The research coordinator will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders within Seattle Fire Department and the University of Washington's Paramedic Training program.
This position requires research experience. The team must have confidence in the processes used and the work products of this individual. They also must be able to rely on his/her/their ability to move projects forward with professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness. This individual must have a working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative approaches to data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection Activities: (45%)
* Perform data collection and data entry process; prepare summary reports and regular updates and perform periodic quality checks to ensure the integrity of the data collected
* Assist with development and maintenance of research databases.
* Contribute to development of study protocol and evaluation metrics.
* Analyze collected data for accuracy.
Human subject research activities (30%)
* Recruit, screen and consent participants or legal representative.
* Facilitate timely enrollment of study participants and explanation of research procedures to participants.
* Ensure informed consent forms from participants and participant family members have been obtained.
* Ensure Federal and State Regulatory compliance including HIPAA.
* Actively contribute writing IRB applications/modifications for complex research protocols.
* Maintain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and correspondence, including amendments and renewals as necessary in collaboration with Clinical Research Manager.
* Serve as primary point of contact for research participant recruitment, scheduling and questions about studies.
Other Research, Funding and Publication Activities: (25%)
* Provide project support to keep activities within scope, timeline, and budget; track project milestones and identify opportunities for knowledge sharing.
* Prepare and maintain study materials for the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
* Draft and edit manuscripts and grant proposals; prepare materials for meetings and workshops.
* Complete literature reviews relating to ongoing research.
* Serve as research contact for UW research collaborators and outside collaborators.
* Attend necessary meetings and conferences for ongoing research projects
* Assist with onboarding new hourly Research Assistants as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience performing work in support of clinical, biomedical, or behavioral research studies involving human subject.
* Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
