Job Summary

Primary Duties:
* Assists the licensed anesthesia providers in various settings.
* Performs duties under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider.
* Provides support for routine surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Tech program, applicable military anesthesiatechnician course of study, or evidence of adequate job skills training in lieu of schooling.
* Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) certification within 6 months of date of hire (full and part time staff only)
* Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Unit Tech performs tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, treatment, transportation, and various clerical tasks.
Primary Duties:
* Observes, documents, and reports changes in patient activity and/or symptoms such as vital signs, respiration, discomfort, intake, output, weight, and bleeding.
* Assists with or prepares patient for transport including moving patient to and from bed to gurney or wheelchair. Transports patients, patient belongings and valuables, blood products, supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment and specimens to and from various locations.
* Acknowledges patient inquiries; responds or refers inquiries appropriately. Answers patient call lights; determine nature of problem; respond within scope and/or obtain appropriate resources.

How you will change lives
As a PatientCare Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.
What you'll be doing
Patient care. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.
Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.
Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may be applicable and required.

Required Education and Experience

Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for performing routine daily patient care in accordance with established nursing care practices. Participates as a member of the health care team, working within his/her licensure scope of practice under the direction of the Registered Nurse, and follows Summit Pacific behavior and service standards to maintain a positive work environment that promotes high-quality patient care experiences.
