Responsibilities
The System Support Specialist is responsible to functionally manage procurement system and related infrastructure to ensure efficient daily operations, applying industry experience and specialized knowledge. Interact and communicate with Information Technology (IT) staff. Business Services Directorate management and staff to assure contract systems remain operational and meet the needs of the organization and PNNL. Plan and set priorities for acquisition system enhancement projects including documentation of requirements, development and scheduling of training, and development and execution of change management and written documentation. Support the functional and technical implementation of PNNL's procurement processes into Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning system, partnering with internal and external stakeholders and system integrators, ensuring alignment with BSD's business objectives, policies, and contract management standards. Maintain a flexible and adaptable attitude and the ability to pivot to support system changes that may occur while influencing resolution in a timely manner. Communicate and document system issues to stakeholders and customers in a professional, empathetic manner. Work on multiple tasks simultaneously while having the flexibility to redirect as priorities change and more urgent needs arise. Work effectively in a team environment demonstrating a collaborative and professional attitude and approach to problem-solving. Provide technical support to a wide range of customers, offering guidance and direction for a variety related systems and tools. Thoroughly troubleshoot system issues, collaborate with IT and stakeholders providing resolution to anomalies, and drafting proposed changes for system enhancements.
This position is dedicated to system support within the Proposals, Contract & Acquisition Management and Oversight Organization within BSD.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* BS/BA and 5 years of relevant experience -OR-
* MS/MA or higher and 3 years of relevant experience

**Responsibilities**
The Advanced Computing, Mathematics & Data (ACMD) Division is seeking a **Group Leader** for the Future Computing Technologies (FCT) Group. An interdisciplinary research organization of roughly 40 scientists, engineers, and postdoctoral researchers. The FCT Group develops and evaluates emerging computing technologies across the hardware-software boundary, with core strengths in electronic design automation (EDA), novel computing architectures, hardware-software co-design, high-performance workflow optimization, and a growing focus on quantum computing architectures and quantum algorithms.
The group advances scientific computing through in-house design automation and synthesis tools, architecture exploration, co-design methodologies, compiler and system software development, programming models and libraries for heterogeneous systems, and performance engineering of complex scientific workflows. FCT researchers collaborate extensively with domain scientists to eliminate computational bottlenecks and enable new scientific capabilities. These efforts position the group to shape next-generation data science, artificial intelligence, and scientific computing capabilities at PNNL and across the broader research community. The FCT Group has developed tools that will enable a seamless computing ecosystem for agile and rapid scientific discovery. Responsibilities
The Environmental Subsurface Science Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks applications for a Geomechanics Researcher position. The applicant must have experience in one or more of the following areas: Reservoir geomechanics, Subsurface stress measurement and interpretation, Bayesian statistics and risk analysis, Hydraulic fracturing mechanics, and Earthquake seismology.
Through their work, the candidate will also develop an internal and external network of collaborators and project partners and participate in professional societies at the regional and national level. The candidate is expected to publish scientific findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals as well as present work at professional conferences. Finally, the position requires that the candidate comply with PNNL policies regarding environmental health and safety, waste management, and protection of intellectual property.
An ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to data quality and accuracy, strong written and oral communication skills, as evidenced by scientific publications and conference presentations, and be able to work independently and in a team setting.
The applicant should have a significant level of knowledge and/or direct working experience in areas of mechanics, statistics, geology, and scientific software development. Although the position is primarily computationally focused, some opportunity for laboratory and field work is possible.

**Responsibilities**
This position performs as a field deployed Safety and Health (S&H) representative providing services to PNNL staff and line, facility, and project management to assist them in conducting research and operational activities in a safe and compliant manner. This position provides critical support for both Operations and Research and Development staff. The management of laboratory facilities and research presents several radiological, chemical, and occupational risks as a part of its operation. This position is responsible for managing the operational risks with respect to occupational health and safety hazards for the assigned organization.
This position is accountable to the Worker Safety & Health Services Team Lead. The position develops and implements technical policies which identify, evaluate and mitigate hazards. General responsibilities include leading teams in identifying deficiencies, developing appropriate corrective actions, providing technical guidance for the development of policies and procedures, and reviewing new regulatory requirements for applicability. This position may participate on Industrial Hygiene related projects across BMI (Battelle Memorial Institute) or DOE - wide initiatives. **Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:

**Hazardous Working Conditions/Environment**
The incumbent must be able to qualify as a Radiological Worker and beryllium worker for entry into radiological and beryllium-controlled areas at PNNL. The incumbent may occasionally perform work with radioactive materials or be in the vicinity of radiation fields and may be involved with emergency response activities. Fully qualified Journeyman. Perform expert installation, maintenance, fabrication, layout, and repair work on all piping systems, plumbing assemblies and equipment falling within the jurisdiction of the Plumber-Steamfitter Journeyman classification of PNNL. Will set up and use tools and equipment, either hand or power tools.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Fully qualified journeyman with 1 years of experience at the journeyman level.

* Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe to required shapes using hand and power tools or machines.
* Securing pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
* Installing and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment, including pumps and valves.
* Testing piping systems for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
* Complying with all safety protocols and regulations during installation and maintenance.
* Assembling various pipe sections and components using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or plastic solvents.
* Updating maintenance and installation records upon completion of tasks.

Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated Plasma Physicist to join the Physical Sciences Division at PNNL. In this position you will be working on laser-matter interactions with emphasis on high-energy density physics, ultrafast laser produced plasma, plasma light sources for EUV lithography, plasma diagnostics, and plasma modeling. The candidate is expected to demonstrate hands-on laboratory experience with high intensity ultrafast lasers, experience in developing plasma diagnostics, and advanced analysis of data to validate simulation codes.

* Develop and implement novel diagnostic tools to study high-temperature and high-density plasmas.

We are seeking a Data Scientist 2 - Biostatistician with expertise in statistics who will join a talented, multi-investigator team to contribute to projects developing innovative solutions across the spectrum of 'omics technologies. The ideal applicant will have a skill set that includes a strong background in statistical theory, advanced statistical methodology including modeling, experimental design, multivariate statistics, and other advanced topics such as time series analysis, statistical learning, Bayesian modeling, image analysis, deep learning, and application of generative artificial intelligence. Experience in statistics applied to biology and/or mass spectrometry data (e.g. proteomics) and proficiency in data integration and harmonization of multiple large datasets are desired. The Earth Systems Science Division, part of the Energy and Environment Directorate, provides leadership and solutions that advance Earth system opportunities for energy systems and national security. We are a multidisciplinary division connected by a shared commitment to innovate and collaborate towards solving complex problems in the dynamic Earth system.
Responsibilities
This Post Doctorate Research Associate will provide support to existing and emerging federally funded programs focused on characterization, monitoring, modeling and/or predicting complex earth, energy and environmental systems. This includes application areas of climate modeling, extreme events, human-earth interactions, environmental remediation, carbon sequestration, renewable generation, power systems operation and planning, grid resiliency, and small cities. The primary scope of this position includes advanced sensor and electronics design and testing, signal acquisition in laboratory settings and field environment, generation of intellectual properties, and writing of high-impact papers.
The Environmental Sensors team within the Earth System Predictability & Resiliency Group of ESSD is seeking candidates to lead key tasks and support interdisciplinary projects including:
* Developing advanced sensing systems for earth system science and renewable energy. These next-generation sensors are not only fast, accurate, and versatile in terms of system performance but also lightweight, small, and soft. They can also be adapted for challenging environments such as deep subsurface and the Arctic environments, as well as for chemical detection.
* Developing advanced energy-harvesting systems for small sensors/transmitters as well as remote sensing platforms.
* Studying the environmental impact of conventional hydropower and marine and hydrokinetic renewable energy systems by detecting and tracking fish or other animals in the river or ocean using underwater acoustic telemetry.
The primary scope of this position includes advanced sensor and electronics design and testing, signal acquisition in laboratory settings and field environment, generation of intellectual properties, and writing of high-impact papers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
* PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Strong experience with PCB design, low power electronics and DC-DC power converter, SPICE simulation.
* Strong experience with programming microcontrollers using microcontroller manufacturers' dedicated development environments.
* Hands-on experience with telemetry system design and testing such as acoustic, RF, and satellite communication systems.
* Experience with C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and assembly programming languages.
* Ability to effectively work and communicate within a multidisciplinary development team environment.
