Pacific Oaks College company history timeline

1945

On October 1, 1945 the Pacific Oaks Friends School opened with 10 teachers and 65 children ages two to four.

Pacific Oaks College was founded in 1945.

Seven Quaker families purchased the school in 1945 with the plan of developing an educational approach built on the values of equality, simplicity, nonviolence, and community.

1958

In 1958, Pacific Oaks College was established to train educators to make an impact in their communities through successful careers in Early Childhood Education.

Pacific Oaks College was founded in 1958 following five years of offering upper-division courses through the UCLA Extension.

1996

Pacific Oaks College was founded in 1945. It first offered distance learning courses in 1996.

2004

In fall 2004, there were 202 students enrolled in distance learning courses.
