Great management and coworkers. Awesome training. Good company culture- competitive but fun. The Phoenix branch has a very impressive office. We had company outings every other Friday with an open bar and free food. We were also given relatively extended lunches due to the long work days (7:30am-6:30pm).The products we were selling were not all that exciting (copiers, printers, phone systems), however I found the entirety of the sales process to be thrilling , from prospecting to qualifying to closing a deal. I found it very fulfilling when I made a deal that was truly helping a customer's business.
Cold-calling on foot in a suit and tie in 100+ degree weather was not ideal. There was a lot of rejection, but that is a part of any sales position so it never discouraged me. What I found most frustrating is when I knew that our product/service could really help a customer, but the deal did not work out for one reason or another.
I worked as an intern at Pacific Office. I was paid hourly but was not given any benefits such as medical or a company car. I'm not sure if I would consider this a perk, but the amount of freedom I was given once I proved myself capable was one of the best parts about this job. My manager was always there to give guidance when I needed it, but he also allowed for me to organize my own work days. (time spent in office vs time spent in the field) .
I liked making my own schedule, the variety in solutions to sell, the fun nights out, and most of my coworkers.
Little training/ communication—always felt very unprepared. Long hours and mandatory bar meets after work. Some manipulative language and lack of concern for the client.
The fact that I no longer have to deal with those people
They bully their employees, have no HR Department and make up policies based off of their own needs. I have never worked for such unprofessional people in my life.
Absolutely nothing.
