Chemistry Lab Technician Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Chemistry Lab Technician to join our Analytical Chemistry team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analysis, Ethylene Oxide (EO) Residuals analysis using Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detection (GC-FID), and ICP-MS for elemental analysis. This role involves preparing samples for analysis, performing analytical testing while ensuring accurate and reliable results, maintaining instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Chemistry Lab Technician Key Responsibilities:
Conduct TOC analysis for water and medical device testing.
Perform EO residuals analysis using GC-FID to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance.
Utilize ICP-MS for trace metal analysis in pharmaceutical, environmental, or industrial samples.
Prepare and analyze samples according to SOPs and industry guidelines.

Chemistry Lab Technician Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Experience:
o Hands-on experience with TOC analysis or TOC analyzer.
o Proficiency in GC-MS/FID analysis (MS preferred but not required).
o Experience with ICP-MS (preferred but not required).

Job Duties
Under direct supervision, trains and becomes familiar with the chemical hygiene plan and the current HSE laboratory safety standards.
Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations in performing assigned duties.
Performs duties to conduct prototype or laboratory tests following prescribed procedures.
Learns to build equipment and/or perform basic material or environmental tests using basic techniques with electrical/electronic, chemical, and mechanical equipment.
Learns to document test data for reporting purposes.
Maintains files and documentation related to test equipment and test results of equipment.
Job tasks, correctly performed, have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization.
Qualifications
Skills typically through eight (8) hours of college chemistry (preferred).
Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Lab Technician Associate up to a Lab Technician.

The QA technician performs the following essential functions:
1. Performs raw material and finished good testing.
2. Daily sensory analysis of finished goods.
3. Initiates disposition of finished goods (release / hold)
4. Works closely with manufacturing operators to verify test results.
5. Coordianates submission of samples to third party labs.
6. Verifies calibration of laboratory equipment.
7. Maintains Product Hold Program via entry into spreadsheet, form completion, labeling and label removal.
8. Maintains sample retention program.
9. Assist with internal audits.
10. Analytical report creation.
* Associates degree in science related field or four years experience in laboratory or quality setting.
* Must have demonstrated abilities in written and oral communication.
* Must be able to perform general office duties including data entry and filing.
* The person in this position must have ability to problem solve, prioritize, follow-through on multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a safe, efficient manner; abiding by all safety related policies and procedures.
