The Quality Assurance Audit Team Lead provides supervision, leadership, and guidance to Claims Analysts, Quality Assurance Audit Specialists, Reinsurance Business Analysts, and support staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and workflows. This role is responsible for managing claims production and quality to meet or exceed company standards, resolving adjudication issues, and overseeing hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation. As a leader, the Team Lead fosters a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encourages innovation, and supports management change. They coach team members to improve individual performance, build strong team dynamics, and inspire commitment to shared goals and organizational vision.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate assigned staff to ensure claims processing meets department and company standards.
Analyze performance data to identify individual and team training needs and support ongoing development.
Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to deliver effective onboarding and continued education for team members.
Oversee and support accurate and timely processing of medical and dental claims, ensuring correct interpretation of benefit and policy provisions.
Assist with claim review and research to determine coverage based on contract terms, provider status, and processing guidelines.
Investigate and resolve claims adjudication issues, including disputes, and coordinate with appropriate departments to support grievance and appeal processes.
Respond to inquiries received by mail or email, and prepare clear, professional business correspondence and reports.
Communicate updates to claims-related processes and procedures to ensure team alignment and timely adoption.
Participate in interoffice committees and leadership peer groups to promote cross-functional collaboration and process efficiency.
Coordinate with other departments to support business activities and maintain effective partnerships.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and PacificSource privacy policies regarding the confidentiality and security of protected health information.
Support process improvement initiatives using lean methodologies and contribute to interdepartmental efforts to enhance workflows.
Use visual boards and daily huddles to monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
Actively contribute to department meetings and strategic committees to share insights and represent company values.

SUCCESS PROFILE
Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of claims experience, or related experience in insurance or healthcare industry required. Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience required.
Education, Certificates, Licenses: Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge: Ability to gain a thorough understanding of PacificSource products, plan designs, provider relationships, and health insurance terminology. Basic working knowledge of Oregon Insurance Division rules and regulations. Thorough understanding of claims processing systems and operations. Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to type using a standard keyboard, operate a 10-key pad accurately, and use a multi-line telephone system and fax machine. Strong research skills and ability to evaluate claims for accurate auditing. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and CPT / ICD-10 coding. Effective and responsive leadership skills. Temporary contract position to review medical charts. Medical records will be reviewed to find documentation and compliance for HEDIS performance measures. Data elements being sought are laboratory results, blood pressures, body mass index, colon cancer screening, and other aspects of care.
Essential Responsibilities:
The auditor will review medical records obtained by a vendor and available electronically at the PacificSource office.
The medical record review on the members in the population will be performed according to NCQA HEDIS specifications.
Data will be entered using certified HEDIS software on laptop computer after training has been completed.
The medical record will be reviewed for confirmation of member identification, data elements, numerator events and exclusions per HEDIS specifications outlined on MRR tools in the certified software system.
Numerator events and exclusions will be documented in the software program and by photocopying, printing, or capturing a digital image of the page of the medical record where the event or contraindication is found.
Ability to audit with 95% accuracy.
Protect PHI by never leaving laptop in car.
Always lock computer when leaving its location.
Do not reveal passwords.
Do not discuss PHI with anyone who does not have a legal need to know.
All photocopied medical records will be handled according to the health plan confidentiality and safe guarding PHI policy and procedure.

Requirements:

About the role
Serves as an advisor and strategic business partner to captive/exclusive COUNTRY agents to help them market, sell, and service COUNTRY products and services. Cultivates rep agency growth by advising individual agents in developing their business plans, including setting sales targets and providing partnership and guidance throughout the agent's business lifecycle. Serves as liaison between agents, the home office and other field operations.
How does this role make an impact?
* Advises agents on best practices for selling the full array of COUNTRY offerings and managing a successful agency, taking ownership in agents' success.
* Acts as a consultant, working with individual agents to develop their annual business plans to achieve/exceed growth targets under the Sales Compensation Program framework; communicates expectations and conducts regular check-ins to review progress and offer support/counsel.
* Formally welcomes, mentors and provides leadership to new agents by counseling them on business plans, marketing strategies, and retention campaigns.
* Partners with Agency Recruiting in local strategic recruitment efforts to source, plan, grow and retain a high-performing sales force.
* Communicates and reinforces centralized COUNTRY product-related training and conferences, as well as other critical information, such as corporate strategy, company performance, new program/system rollouts, priorities and campaigns.
* Develops a high-performing culture, focused on establishing a network for agents to make connections and share ideas; establishes personal networks and participates in professional societies.
* Coordinates with Marketing to help execute initiatives aimed at maximizing the rep marketing budget.
Do you have what we're looking for?
* 5 years of business-to-business sales or territory management experience or a combination of related experience, education and training, including management experience.
* Property & Casualty, Life/Health licenses - must complete within 30 days of hire.
* SIE, Series 6 and 63 licenses - must complete within 6 months of hire.
* COUNTRY Financial Advisor Program certification - must complete within 9 months of hire.
* Normal office environment.
* Work may extend beyond normal business hours as business needs dictate.
* Regular travel required, including some overnight.
Base Pay Range:
$100,000 - $137,000
The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.
Incentive Pay:
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for Agency Sales Incentive as well as a Short-Term Incentive plan.
Relocation
If you do not reside within the sales territory, you would be subject to the following relocation expectations:
* Establish temporary residency within your sales territory within 60 days from your start date
* Establish permanent residency within your sales territory within 180 days from your start date

Interns will receive the same new hire training as our incoming hires and will have the opportunity to intern in a specific insurance niche area. Interns will be providing assistant level support to our teams and will work on a variety of different projects throughout the summer. Interns will also have the opportunity to network across multiple groups and listen to speakers in a variety of niche areas within the firm.
The objective of our internship is to provide students with a full understanding of what a brokerage firm does. In addition to direct support for our teams, interns will also have an opportunity to work on a variety of customer service skills.
