What Does A Pack Machine Operator Do At Baxter

* Equipment Operation (40%)
* Follow and execute machine operation according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch record instructions
* Maximize equipment efficiency during operation, ensuring first pass quality product
* Periodically check/examine units from good and or reject areas to ensure proper equipment function
* Challenge equipment and or verification systems according to SOPs or batch record instructions
* Document all actions performed at the time of performance; assist with verifying various batch record or other equipment steps for teammates
* Communicate equipment issues to subsequent shifts, Supervisor and appropriate personnel
* Contact and work with internal resources and or vendors to maintain/improve equipment performance
* Meet equipment/line efficiency targets by proactively taking action to prevent downtime; work with upstream or downstream team members to help line flow
* Use and sample printed materials to the batch record by First In First Out (FIFO)
* Print/documentmachine outputs or reports before, during, or after processing
* Set-up, Tear down, & Changeover (25%)
* Thoroughly clean and clear machines in established target timelines between production operations
* Perform set-up and changeover activities independently for assigned machine; assist set-up and or changeovers on additional equipment when available
* Verify all set-up/changeover steps have been completed properly using set-up checklists
* Monitor setup and changeover process to ensure completion within target set/changeover time
* Assist Quality Assurance and or production clearance personnel with clearance of machine
* Machine Trouble shooting (15%)
* Track machine faults and or downtime system data as problems occur; share information with Technician/Maintenance/Engineering support and help recommend appropriate action to correct the equipment issue
* Clear most faults and re-start equipment following shutdown with minimal direction or supervision according to SOPs or batch record instructions
* Assist with completing work orders for equipment related problems
* Provide recommendations and implement solutions to equipment/process challenges
* Utilize all available information and support groups to resolve problems in a timely manner
* Assistwith documentation and follow up to problems with inadequate/defect material
* Continuous Improvement, Training, and Safety (15%)
* Train peers and Relief Machine Operators for general equipment operation, setup and changeover
* Work with Finishing Training, Supervisors, Machine Operators, etc. to update/improve SOPs
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
* Immediately address any safety or training deficiencies discovered by you or your team mates; notify appropriate levels of management as necessary
* Work with Engineering, Senior Technicians, Tech Services, etc. to improve material design and or equipment operation

What Does A Pack Machine Operator Do At Unilever

* Operates Bartelt, Jones machine(s) including peripheral fillers, (may operate two machines simultaneously) keeping watch for any malfunctions.
* Is responsible for maintaining quality and quantity of pouches as set by Quality Assurance and by Packaging Production Standards.
* Performs weight and quality checks every 15 minutes or hour depending on the line to ensure ingredient fills are maintained within standards.
* Checks ingredient and total pouch weights and adjusts the controls as required to ensure adherence to standards
* Clear jams on machine as required.
* Performs certain mechanical adjustments for on Packaging lines.
* Retrieve packaging material from forward pick area within the room and loads onto machine.
* Orders packaging material in a timely manner
* Uses computer to retrieve changeover information and settings.
* Reports machine malfunction (mechanical/electrical) to mechanic, electrician or supervisor.
* Supplies machine with packaging material as required
* Performs mechanical changeover, removing, replacing parts, and adjusting as per predetermined equipment settings.
* Set-up check-weigher on changeover and operate while production is running.
* Replace Teflon as required.
* Hand palletize as required.
* Inspects cases for damage and ensures correct information from ink jet systems.
* Performs roll change on tape machine as required.
* Maintains fluid levels on Videojet print system and change bottles as required.
* Maintains fluid levels on Marsh printing system and clean head when required.
* Rips substandard pouches online and operates rework separators.
* Labels rework drums and send upstairs for stock people to dump.
* Maintains high level of personal hygiene and keeps work area in a clean and sanitary condition in compliance with
* GMP standards.
* Rotates between all different functions on area basis and as required to ensure smooth operation of room.
* Ensures that all machine safety guards are in place and operational.
* Ensures compliance to all plant safety rules.
* Participates in all World Class Manufacturing training and applies this knowledge to their daily job duties and responsibilities.
* Updates all related Line KPI information and graphs as required.
* Responsible for complying with existing company SHEQ Standards and requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act

What Does A Pack Machine Operator Do At Kelly Services

* Basic proficient operations of packaging equipment, including Little David Case Tapers, manual line operations, hand labeling, visual inspections, BFB bundlers, line and equipment cleaning and line clearances, proper and correct documentation practices.
* Must be able to work in non-aseptic filling operations.
* Requires special gowning practices and techniques.
* This position requires line clearance qualification, Wise Owl Training and all related EHS training including BAPP Observations, LOTO qualification, 100% status of all Compliance Wire requirements including SOP, EHS training, Company policy training and the required 6 hours minimum if GMP's maintained throughout the year.
* Assume responsibility for the GMP, ISO, environmental health and safety procedure awareness, and compliance within the respective area.
* Attend and participate in lean improvement initiatives such as reducing costs & OEE initiatives.

* Operates basic packaging line equipment.
* Maintain production area as to prevent cross-contamination (line clearance failures), cleans packaging lines after each run and perform line clearances.
* Responsible for maintaining OEE.
* Properly document all activities and operations correctly and on time.
* Meets and maintains all required training during the year.
* Support LASER and WISE OWLS initiatives.
* All other duties as assigned.

* Monitor product flow from strippers and silos to packaging machines.
* Clear product jams at stripper and in turners, chimneys and scales.
* Add cartons and change packaging film.
