Summary This position supports RDI productivity and on-time delivery goals by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies and staging finished product. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy and the movement of material into and out of the warehouse. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and often has direct interaction with Production Manager, Supervisors and Techs, as well as the Supply Chain Coordinator and Quality Assurance. Hours are Monday through Friday 11:00AM to 7:15PM. Flexible hours are not available. Essential Functions * Moves about the work area/building continually, moving materials throughout the production floor. Continuous reaching, stooping, bending, twisting to reach and position materials. * Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory, focusing on timeliness and accuracy. * Referring to production orders, locating materials and supplies, accurately pulling inventory from assigned bin locations to support pick/pack operations numerous times per workday. * Maintains an awareness of schedules and deadlines, adapts to changing work priorities throughout the shift. * Ability to operate a forklift in tight spaces to retrieve stored items and stack empty pallets. * Perform weigh counts for WIP returns to inventory. * Maintain warehouse and material handling equipment in a clean and safe condition. This includes pre-use inspection and identifying safety risks, removing empty crates and boxes, packing materials, and other debris from warehouse floor. Keeps shelves, pallet area neat, complying with procedures, rules and regulations. * Consistently uses strength, dexterity, flexibility balance and good body mechanics when performing essential functions. Follows appropriate safety policies and procedures of RDI as well as community and regulatory instruction. * Reports all broken and malfunctioning equipment immediately. * Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality as defined by RDI's policy. Records all time worked accurately and consistently using the timekeeping method provided by RDI. * Willingly completes other duties as assigned. The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for operating power industrial truck and machinery to move products, materials and supplies from one area to another and to load items on trucks, shelves, racks, and pallets. Conduct daily safety check off sheets on material handling equipment: recharge batteries and fill fuel tank. Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment. Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance. This position will be responsible for, among other things, stages, shrink wraps and loads products by trip number and store number as it is received from the packing and pulling areas of the stockroom. Prepares palletized loads for shipment by shrink-wrapping product to ensure safe transportation or storage, including safe and proper balancing and placement of products. Additionally, this position assists with safe and proper pallet building and selects products for specific routes. The Material Handler role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Shipping Operators must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. Shipping Operators must have the skills set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives. Responsibilities Always operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner Perform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storage Provide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment Assist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directed Perform housekeeping and sanitation procedures Provide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safety Loading trucks, live loads and staged loads Ability to operate Forklift - (Expert Level) Direct ship responsibility including proper disposition of hold product, food safety hold product and released product WMS, BOL responsibility / accountability Support Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with shipping department Standing on a concrete floor Sitting, getting up and down off of a forklift often Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform) Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55lbs Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals Vision correctable to 20/20 Qualifications Be 18 years of age or older Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language Forklift certified Must have valid drivers license Knowledge of inventory computer systems WMS Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices What can you expect from Mars?
