Functions Loading and unloading truck in the shipping/receiving department Ensures containers with hazardous contents is securely closed and marked prior to loading or unloading and is present during loading and unloading. Notify the leader of any defects or contamination. * Weigh count the good parts on the scale as they are being placed into shipping cartons; seal the cartons with the taping machine. Put bar-code labels on each carton. * Place the sealed cartons on the available pallet and wrap the completed pallet. * Load freight for shipments per bill of lading * Check in and out parcels from U.P.S and prepare for shipment * Write shipping tickets. * Direct the forklift driver to place the wrapped pallet into its proper stock location. * Operate the forklift truck, if qualified, as needed to "feed" the tumbler, packaging lines, storage racks, etc. * Sort parts when necessary while packaging. * Keep machinery, equipment, and surrounding area in a clean condition. * Learn how to operate the tumbler. Adhere to the scrap process to include removing and replacing scrap with roll off trailer & responding when contacted to swap, recording and weighing of the scrap roll offs, and transporting scrap roll off to the staging area. Supply and deliver proper amounts of shipping/WIP racks. Load and unload outside trucks, and verify incoming racks per BOL. Transfer dies, finished parts, and empty racks/totes utilizing flatbed trailers. Provide assistance when needed for loading and unloading outside dies and tooling. Trailer switching. Adhere to outside rack layout. Verify that product matches paperwork for shipping/WIP racks. Commitment/adherence to department cross training. Maneuver the Taylor-100 “Big Red” 100,000-ton hilo. Operate switcher to maintain bullpen and move trailers as required. Rack and die inventory management. Participate/maintain TPM/5S objectives in warehouse, pole barns, fork trucks, outside grounds, etc. Maintain safety and housekeeping standards. Raising/Lowering trailers. Connecting/Removing air lines. Chocking wheels. Follow the damage trailer process (tagging trailers with tag describing when, what was damaged, etc.). Clearing scrap pad. Additional duties as assigned by management. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Must have a valid Driver's License, and Fork Truck License or the ability to obtain one. Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed, changing shifts when required to support the company and for the coverage of employee vacations. Adhere to the two hours stay over as needed. Basic Computer skills. Class CDL-A preferred, not required.
