The Boston Globe packager job description
- Pick up inserts and placing them on a hopper feed or directly in the hopper. Packages of inserts can weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Periodic duties include removing jams, pallets and spilled inserts.
- Removing jams requires standing, walking, climbing twisting, kneeling squatting, bending/stooping, working above shoulders and in awkward positions.
- Removing pallets requires lifting the pallet and moving it by pulling or pushing it to a designated location.
- Removing spilled inserts requires bending, squatting or stooping to pick up spilled inserts.
- May also pile bundles of product weighing up to 40 pounds as well as operate a fork truck on occasion. Training will be provided.
This full-time (40 hour weekly) position is located in Taunton. You will be required to work nights and weekends in a climate controlled building. This position has earned PTO and paid holidays.
