The Area Manufacturing Manager (AMM) will be engaged in a number of strategic and project initiatives related to mill operations areas. These areas involve but are not limited to Pulp Mill, Woodyard, Recaustizing, and OCC (recycling). The AMM will advise these areas in operations system development, training systems, technical staff development, and project coordination. The position will engage in best practice implementation and execution within these areas, be engaged with complex issues across department and functional teams. The AMM will work independently or facilitate engagement with appropriate resources to advance solutions and engage with all levels of the organization as needed.
Principle Accountabilities:
Provide technical support to the business and manufacturing operations supporting optimization &/or capital projects
Ability to troubleshoot issues and mentor others regarding pulp mill operations and equipment including machine reliability, maintenance, outages, and project management
Ability to work independently and act as subject matter expert, assisting with and identifying areas of improvement
Evaluate, select, and apply standard operations techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
Provide project management support across the business when and where needed as projects arise
Strong interpersonal and communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the business including senior leaders, other business units, mill leadership, personnel, and operators
Provide technical training to plant personnel on newly installed technologies
Involved in developing business and/or plant capital plans
Develop plans, specifications and reports
Make actionable recommendations based on sound engineering judgment
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Position Requirements:
Experience: 5+ years of applicable experience working in pulp mill, woodyard, or technical leadership roles; experience in a pulp and paper facility is a MUST
Knowledge of process operations systems, training systems, project management
Abilities/Skills: Leadership, Communication, Interactive, Analysis, Critical Thinking, Strategic Thinking
Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members

The Staff Engineer - Alignment will travel to various PCA locations to support projects across the organization in both plants and papermills. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of industrial experience, preferably in the paper/corrugated industry. This is a hands-on position, working side-by-side with the leaders, contractors, and personnel to drive projects to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience in an industrial setting focused on computer/digital/laser alignment. The primary responsibilities include alignment support for a range of projects, including new machine installation, machine survey work, troubleshooting and maintenance. This includes diligently recording all findings for reporting purposes, as well as reviewing historical documentation, and providing succinct and comprehensive reports for other members of the team. The Staff Engineer will use engineering acumen and best judgement when making decisions regarding alignment of machine components.
Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:
Experience in Alignment Services, Equipment Installation or Mechanical Construction as related to alignment and layout services.
Ability to travel 80% of the time and can reside anywhere in lower 48 states with good access to reliable air transportation.
2 + years in an industrial paper and/or corrugating environment, design engineering environment, or construction services.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence and persuade others; excellent organization and planning skills.
Ability to work well with consulting engineers, local utility providers, and local authorities having jurisdiction.
Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Autocad (or similar).
Education:
Technical Degree or Certification or comparable experience, OR
Associate or Bachelor's Degree
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Starting salary range for position: $84,000 to $120,000
Bonus: Annual - Based upon individual contribution and overall, Company performance.
Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
Paid Holidays.

Summary: The purpose of this position is to supervise the preparation and timely filing of outsourced sales and use tax returns. This includes maintaining, monitoring, and reviewing sales tax calculations made by our sales tax software, Avalara AvaTax. This position will also assist with sales and use tax account reconciliations, sales and use tax audits, research of complex sales and use tax issues especially those subject to judgment and interpretation, and respond to inquiries from company personnel and taxing authorities.
Dimensions: Over 200 sales and use tax returns in 50+ jurisdictions with between $400 - $800 million of capital spend each year.
Principal Accountabilities:
Work with outside firms to insure accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax returns.
Monitor and maintain our sales tax software, Avalara AvaTax and exemption certificate software Avalara CertCapture.
Assist with state and local sales and use tax audits. This includes procuring necessary detailed information, managing the audit process, discussions with the auditors, preparation of requested schedules, formation of dispute workpapers and support, post-audit documentation and communicating with various PCA personnel.
Review and approve the proper handling of sales tax exemptions.
Oversee maintenance of tax licenses/permits.
Research and respond to inquiries and notices from state and local sales and use taxing authorities, vendors, customers, and company personnel.
Research and analyze complex sales and use tax issues. Must be able to effectively communicate these findings, both orally and in writing, to various financial and non-financial personnel within the company.
Monitor state and local sales and use tax developments, including understanding how these developments affect the company's operations.
Identify and implement sales and use tax planning opportunities through review of laws, regulations and the filing of special exemptions, deferrals, and credits.
Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.
