Purpose Statement The Packaging Operator will be responsible for setting up and changing equipment based upon product need, while adhering to all food safety and food quality guidelines. Key Accountabilities and Outcomes * Observes all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment. * Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area. * Must be able to set up, change over, adjust, repair and operate all machinery/ equipment, on all shifts. * Ensures all equipment is in operating condition and ready for on time startup. * Must have the knowledge and experience to make necessary adjustments to keep products flowing consistently. * Performs process control and quality checks. * Operates date coders and verifies code dates on cases. * Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment. * Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to General Manufacturing Practices and Safety Guidelines. * Cleans all equipment using current sanitation practices. * Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products and other miscellaneous duties. * Responsible for basic troubleshooting of all processing equipment. * Responsible for accurate, timely, and legible completion of daily production reports/ documents. * Trains new associates. * Performs any other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience * High school diploma or GED required. * 2 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds. * Knowledge of FIFO. * Must be able to follow instructions on a formula. * Must be a self-starter who can work in a fast paced environment. * Must be able to get along well with others in a team environment. * Must be detail oriented. * Must be flexible in work and shift hours. * Must adhere to the GMP policies set forth for the plant. * Computer knowledge. * Willingness to be forklift and tote certified.     Job Description Packaging Technician Reports to: Production Manager Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 7:30AM-5:30PM Starting Pay: $17/hour PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Package and label dried flower, fill pre-rolls, portion concentrates, and package oils according to predetermined quotas and work orders. Operate sophisticated packaging equipment for sorting and packaging dried cannabis flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, and oils. Set up, operate, change over, break down, and sanitize packaging equipment. Report to the Packaging Manager and collaborate with the team to achieve daily packaging work order goals. Coordinate batch inventory and packaging materials. Case pack units for storage and shipment. Track and record each step of the packaging process, validating with equipment readings for consistency. Attend to any units rejected by the packaging equipment. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or deviations from standard operating procedures. Inspect and report any inconsistencies or issues with package labels. Record all activities throughout assigned work orders and update inventory logs. Audit labels to ensure proper format and compliance with state regulations. Operate equipment to print and apply labels to packages. Use a scale to accurately weigh products and track numbers. Maintain compliance with state regulations, company policies, and SOPs. Keep workstations clean and safe. Adhere to a full-time schedule with a consistent work ethic. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in cannabis packaging or related field preferred. Ability to operate and troubleshoot sophisticated packaging equipment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment and meet daily quotas. Familiarity with state regulations governing cannabis packaging. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift/move heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
