About the Role
The Operations Excellence Lead connects the planning, execution, and activation of strategic initiatives that support transactional excellence, client engagement, operational efficiency, and profitable growth in HSB's transactional insurance business. This role is pivotal in improving customer experiences and outcomes, with a primary focus on our Equipment Breakdown practice.
Key Responsibilities
Business Capability Planning: Develop and implement business capability plans to identify, assess, and prioritize capabilities required to achieve business objectives, ensuring alignment with HSB's strategic goals and operational requirements.
Process Improvement and Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement and optimization. Develop strategies to streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance overall business performance, leveraging tools such as lean principles, process mapping, and data analysis.
Communication and Change Management: Develop and execute effective communication and change management strategies to support the adoption of new business processes and technologies, minimizing disruption and ensuring a smooth transition for stakeholders.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Significant experience in business process design, analysis, and re-engineering, including data analysis techniques and use of mapping tools (e.g., Visio)
Proven track record leading operational excellence initiatives, including business capability planning and change management
Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or comparable process improvement certification preferred

We are looking for an entry level Manual Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You'll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production.
Responsibilities:
Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)
Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
Test operation of machines periodically
Correct issues that may occur during the shift.

Purpose: The Backtender is responsible to work in conjunction with the Machine Tender assisting him as needed. Consistently monitor and report any quality issues related to production on the non-woven machine to the Machine Tender and/or Supervisor. Able to work safely and independently.
Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
* Identify all machine parts and systems and know their function in non-woven production.
* Accurately document and notify Machine Tender of any issues related to the status of production.
* Identify and label any non-conforming product being produced.
* Responsible for roll handling at the reel and assisting the Machine Tender with roll handling at the unwind stand.
* Prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
* Safely and properly clean and maintain all required production machine equipment.
* Possess the mechanical abilities to safely dismantle and re-assemble machine equipment related to machine clothing changes.
* Follow all Ahlstrom Fiber Composites policies and procedures.
* Perform other related projects and machine duties as assigned.
Education, Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:
* Possess a high school or equivalent education.
* Ability to read, write and understand fluent English.
* Minimum requirement of 2-4 years of manufacturing experience.
* Previous non-woven machine experience preferred.
* Basic PC skills for machine systems preferable.
* Must have knowledge of Ahlstrom Information Security policies and is for his/her own part responsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using information systems or information networks
* This position is additionally responsible as part of the manufacturing flexibility program to cross-train and be fully qualified to work in an at least one other alternate position within the manufacturing operation.
