Ecolab is seeking an Bulk Filler to join our team in Joliet, IL. In this hands-on position, you'll contribute to the reliability and performance of our systems by performing essential checks, supporting manufacturing operations, and ensuring every piece of equipment meets our high standards for safety and quality. You'll also help drive continuous improvement by using TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tools and sharing insights that enhance efficiency and service.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Reviews filling and packaging instructions at beginning of line runs. Ensures that the correct packaging materials are available.
Operates filling and packaging equipment continually. Types of equipment could include filler, bar coders, ink jet printer, hand wrenches, hand stamps, palletizers, and lid presses. Adjusts equipment to control weight, closures, or other as required by the specifications.
Performs all operations on the lines, including loading lines with empty containers, labeling, filling, capping, bar coder generation, taking samples, keeping area clean and organized and other related activities.
Continuingly identify opportunities for system and process waste elimination
Completes and documents activities that measure quality and productivity in an accurate and timely manner. This could include taking weights and performing basic quality tests. Enters results on paper or in computer.
Assists with line changeover, including the collection of wash water.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:
The pay rate for this role is $23.66 per hour. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.

Purpose Statement

The Machine Operator operates various fabrication and roll forming machines and fabricates material to specification, from job orders and document production data. The Operator must follow detailed instructions to ensure the accuracy of each product. They must inspect parts for any defects or inconsistencies and adjust as needed. The Operator must also monitor the machines to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently. Your Impact
Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on fabrication and roll forming equipment.
Fabricate material to specification, from job order and document production data at a level of output that minimizes production delays.
Utilize quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area to 5S Standards.

-Measure quantities of chemicals via laboratory apparatus for liquids, powders, and solids.
Safely and efficiently clean lab apparatus and equipment return to appropriate storage locations.
Stack finished products onto skids either individually or boxed. Move products throughout warehouse through the use of pallet jacks, cart, or hand truck.
Organize work to efficiently and accurately produce multiple Production Orders at the same time
Record work order information via computer such as production process time and date packaged.
Use computer and/or scanning gun to create labels for finished products. Mark items with the appropriate Flinn Item # when necessary.

The Machine Operator may be assigned to the embossing, sealing, or inspection departments to support the needs of the business. In this role, you will be assigned to 3rd shift, Monday - Friday 11:00PM - 7:30AM. Training for this position will take place on 1st Shift. Purpose Statement
The Machine Operator controls machinery in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective, and efficient manner that meets company food safety and quality standards. Also maximizing product quality / attractiveness through strong leadership and achieve individual outputs to support your team in meeting their production goals.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
* Observes all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment.
* Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean workarea.
* Must be able to set up, change over, adjust, repair and operate all machinery and equipment.
* Ensures all equipment is in operating condition and ready for on time startup.
* Must have the knowledge and experience to make necessary adjustments to keep products flowing consistently.
* Performs process control and quality checks.
* Operates date coders and verifies code dates on cases.
* Cleans all equipment using current sanitation practices.
* Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products and other miscellaneous duties. Responsible for basic troubleshooting of all processing equipment.
* Responsible for accurate, timely and legible completion of daily production reports/documents.
* Trains new associates.
* Performs any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* High school diploma or GED required.
* 1+ years Machine operator experience required.
* Basic computer skills including Excel and Word.
* Must be able to take direction and follow instructions.
* Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making.
* Punctual and reliable in work attendance.
* Ability to organize and communicate to all levels of personnel.
* Flexible and able to manage others.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Excellent English communication skills required, bilingual speaker a plus.
COMPENSATION

Converting Machine Operator

Do you want to work in a hands-on environment where you will work alongside others to make products used in well-known companies? At AFC you will be able to assist other workers in the fabrication process, you will get the experience of working in a manufacturing company, and be able to learn while on the job. As a Converter, you will operate a machine to scan and rewind various lengths of material such as PTFE and silicone-coated fiberglass cloth and other PTFE and silicone-coated products and slit materials into various lengths.
What You'll Do
Mount roll of material on machine shafts, re-roll and inspect material while rewinding, and measure material to desire lengths.
Start machine and observe flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.
Responsible for maintenance and some repairs of rewind machine.
Operate slitter, placing correct dimensions and specification into the computer.
Fill orders for zone tape, sponge, and tubing.
Clean and maintain work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
Inventory management of materials and finished goods in the converting area
Correctly completes all inventory transactions in the ERP system.

The Machine Operator may be assigned to the embossing, sealing, or inspection departments to support the needs of the business. In this role, you will be assigned to 3rd shift, Monday - Friday 11:00PM - 7:30AM. Training for this position will take place on 1st Shift. You must be able to complete your training on 1st Shift before moving to 3rd Shift. Overtime opportunities are regularly available, depending on the needs of the business.
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site-specific needs and daily work assignments. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
* Perform the Six Sigma starting procedures.
* Read photometric samples.
* Wash and lubricate belts.
* Create shop packets.

Your Role at KIK
Join our team as an experienced Machine Operator managing production equipment including fillers, case packers, cappers, case sealers, palletizers and labelers. The scope of this role is to ensure the efficient and accurate filing of products into containers, adhering to specific volume and weight requirements, and maintain the highest standards of quality and filler operator works with the packaging end of a production line. The filler operator also operates filling machines and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure consistency.
