Adjusts equipment to control weight, closures, or other as required by the specifications. Performs all operations on the lines, including loading lines with empty containers, labeling, filling, capping, bar coder generation, taking samples, keeping area clean and organized and other related activities. Continuingly identify opportunities for system and process waste elimination Completes and documents activities that measure quality and productivity in an accurate and timely manner. This could include taking weights and performing basic quality tests. Enters results on paper or in computer. Assists with line changeover, including the collection of wash water. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Purpose Statement The Machine Operator controls machinery in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective, and efficient manner that meets company food safety and quality standards. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience * High school diploma or GED required. * 1+ years Machine operator experience required. * Basic computer skills including Excel and Word. * Must be able to take direction and follow instructions. * Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making. * Punctual and reliable in work attendance. * Ability to organize and communicate to all levels of personnel. * Flexible and able to manage others. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Excellent English communication skills required, bilingual speaker a plus.
