Summary/Objectives:
The goal of the Machine Operator will be to increase workflow in the shop by being able to setup, operate, and troubleshoot jobs independently. The candidate will be capable of checking their own work, handle in processing inspections, and perform their own hard checks. The ability to do this independently will increase efficiency and workflow through the entire Machine Shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and setup CNC lathes and/or Mills.
Produce and maintain all part characteristics according to specifications with tolerances as low as .001".
Visually inspect tools for excessive wear.
Select and install tooling as required by the documentation.
Inspect parts for acceptance using proper inspection procedures
Maintain the machines.
Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
Assist shop production by helping co-workers.
Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus a minimum of 4 years of working experience in manufacturing or engineering technicians; or a minimum of 6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and understand component technical manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Key Responsibilities Include:

At Nivagen, the Visual Inspection and PackagingOperator plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and compliance.
