Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Packer Load/ Unload materials
Operate packing sealer and perform random check on the products before going to the sealer
Clean and prepare containers/boxes for packing
Load, stack, pile and pack finished goods following a specific set of instructions
Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them in specific area as instructed.
Move completed products for inventory count
Fill out the production log sheet (i.e., inventory, production count and/or lot #, etc.
Must be able to work weekends if needed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 months experience.
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Physical Demands of Job:
Candidates must be able to lift 30 pounds, occasionally lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds

Position Summary:

Packer
Summary:
Safely and effectively packs finished goods and prepares product for shipment.
Responsibilities:
* • Provides support for the operations team by working safely to feed material into machines, inspect product for defects, and pack finished goods in the correct configuration.
* • Performs quality checks and ensures correct counts on various product sizes and packs items into the appropriate packaging.
* • Makes minor machine adjustments to minimize interruptions and maintain product quality.
* • Replaces adhesive tape in hand tapers and automatic sealing machinery.
* • Ensures that any finished goods or work-in-progress identification labels are present and properly placed.
* • Stacks finished product in the correct configuration, ready for transportation.
* • Maintains good housekeeping and ensures areas of responsibility are safe, clean, and tidy.
* • Promptly informs supervisor of any issues concerning health and safety, hygiene, quality, or efficiency.
* • Follows all company-established rules and policies, adhering to all safety regulations.
* • Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Education and/or Experience:
* • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
* • Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team is essential.
* • Ability to follow standard work instructions is required.

The Packer tends machine that performs one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, taping, packing, or wrapping containers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of the machine.
Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product.
Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices.
Positions and holds container in the machine and depresses pedal, presses the button, or moves the lever to clean, glue, label, sew, or staple container.
Start of production follows steps in BT (line clearance and opens line.)
Makes sure Lot number is printing correctly on the material.
Assist packers in labeling boxes if necessary.
Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards.
Should shadow and learn from a Packer II
Assembly/disassembly of tape (Combi) machines
Must be able to fill in for an absent Water Spider or Packer II
Qualifications:
Less than high school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
