Position Title: Picker and PackerLocation: Aberdeen, MD-21001Shifts: 1st shift: 5:00 AM- 3:00PM-$11.00/hr. 2nd shift: 04:00PM -02:00 AM-11.50/hr. Summary:The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Associate is to safely receive, pick, pack, prep, put-away and ship product per established production rates using specified processes and procedures. Associate will be cross-trained to work in various departments to perform pick, pack, receiving, shipping and put-away assignments based on business and operational needs. Essential Functions of Job: Receive and stock product, and pick, pack, prep and ship orders to both retail stores and on-line customers following established company and industry standard operating procedures. · Follow all Company, state and OSHA safety rules, policies and regulations to ensure safe working practices, including proper work attire; report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.· Comply with all Company Loss Prevention policies and procedures, including proper work attire.· Maintain regular and acceptable attendance Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs.· Pro-actively respond to direction from leadership team, including Shift Coordinators, management staff and other departmental personnel.· Provide high quality internal and external customer service per company standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Familiarity with WMS picking procedures or previous experience using menu driven applications. Familiarity of warehouse layout or the ability to learn layout. Ability to operate RF terminals to successfully receive, pick and replenish product in the warehouse. Ability to pack product using preferred methods. Basic math skills and demonstrate an ability to match numbers. Ability to be cross-trained in receiving, pick, pack, put-away and shipping processes. Ability to understand other functions of the business as they apply to position. · Ability to work closely and effectively with others in a way that promotes teamwork.· Possess a positive and enthusiastic demeanor Working Conditions:· Moderate but varying temperature and humidity in office and warehouse environments. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, sit, squat, lift and /or walk for the duration of the scheduled shift. · Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.     The palletizer is responsible for stacking and placing products neatly and correctly on pallets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operation * Pull product from conveyor and build pallets. * Use RF scanner to create pallet tickets for finished goods completed skids. * Operate pallet jack as needed in a safe manner at all times. Quality Control * Ensure cases are properly sealed and including the correct date code and stacked neatly. Reporting and Record Keeping * Record pallet ticket number on finished goods report. Maintenance * Keep work area clean and orderly. * Replenish tape on tape machine when required. * Unjam tape machine and restart when required. When machines are down or as required: * Make boxes and label boxes. * Clean-up work area. * Check with operators or supervisor on anything else that needs to be done. * Damage cases need to be reworked before end of shift. * Perform other duties as required. Required Knowledge and Skills: * Able to use RF scanner for Warehouse transactions. * Able to operate manual pallet jack and/or electric pallet jack. * Able read, understand, and comprehend documents such as Safety Rules, internal quality procedures, and machine operating procedures. * Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in work area. * Basic mathematics (i.e. counting), basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Qualifications Education * High school diploma, but previous work-related skills, knowledge, and experience is needed. Experience * A minimum of one-year experience in a manufacturing environment. Working Environment * Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required. * Our Manufacturing plant is not environmentally controlled. Changes in humidity and temperature occur throughout the year. Physical Requirements: * Able to continuously use hands and fingers to position items and arms to reach as needed. * Able to frequently bend, move about the work area. * Able to occasionally remain in a stationary position, ascend and descend steps, push and pull objects. * Able to stand for long periods of time. * Lifting 50 pounds occasionally. Other Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
